In 100 words or less, I don't think I can accomplish this! The gorgeous campus; the kind of campus on a fall day that you can't help but enjoy and feel invigorated by. The flexibility, I started at COD in 2010, had 2 babies, then started again in 2014. I didn’t know about this type of flexibility before I started but I am so thankful that it was. I can do online courses and the counselors have hours in the evening. I can be a Mom and work towards getting my degree in Secondary Education!

Going into community college, I had the perception that it would be similar to what high school was, however it is not. Granted, there are some things that remind you of high school such as the small classroom size and teachers taking attendance, but the experience is much different. I would've told myself to go out and make the most of this opportunity. Also, I wish I had known that parking can be very chaotic. I learned that leaving several minutes before your class begins is very important.

I wish I had tried harder in high school and not slacked off as much as I had. I have come to realize that I am capable of doing much more than I thought I was able to. If I had know this, it might have made my life alot easier on myself by not having to worry about my GPA as I do now by trying to build it up. Yes I have been able to build it back up, but I sure didn't help myself in high school.

I wish I had known how to chose my classes in regards to what I want to acheive. It's hard deciding what classes to take when you don't know what career you'd like in the future. But luckily my career advisers helped me and I was able to determine what classes to take.

Initially, I thought I would like to have discovered my passion for graphic design before I started school, but when I think about it, the path to discovering my calling was an invaluable part of my life. Instead, I wish I could have been more assured that the risks I took were worthwhile. A lot of people encourage you to follow your dreams, but there is always a sense of doubt that holds you back. If I could do it over, I would erase that doubt knowing that even the mistakes are part of the path.

I wish i knew how to fully utilize financial aid before starting school. i now know that its best to find the books to be used in class and buy them ahead online. one other skill i wish i knew was how to effectively balance a class schedule and a work schedule. Due to the difficulty of the courses I barely have any free time in which i could plan the next semester, prepare for a transfer , or even set aside a decent amount of personal time for family and friends. I believe scheduling skills are necessary for any student.
