What are your classes like?

Autumn

Classes here definitely require some studying, but I find that many times it hardly feels like I'm doing homework since I'm actually interested in the topics. In my First Year Seminar class, we're reading short fiction, and the reading assignments the professor picks are extremely interesting, and are something that I would have actually considered to read in my free time, even without it being an assignment. Many times I get so wrapped up in the reading that I read ahead!

My classes are really fun! I have a lot of music classes and they give me a lot of room to be creative and are a really good outlet for stress.

My classes are all pretty layed back. I am currently taking Spanish 112 and my teacher is so amazing she makes the class actually likable. My second class is economics and my teacher is Indian, sometimes it is nice to have the diversity in the classroom. Another class that I am taking is Management 201 which is basically like an intro to management, and I love it. My teacher is super fun and easy(which is always nice) and he keeps the class involved which is really nice. My last class is Calc, I like math, but my professor isn't the greatest thing. Class, is well, class. Nothing special or out of the ordinary.

My classes are appropriately difficult. All of my professors aim to challenge us but not make things too difficult. They like us to figure things out on our own, work through problems with little guidance but are always open to questions. Right now I have three classes one day and 1 the other, though that is not typical (most do 2 and 2) so time management is key. Classes are almost always interesting, even if it isn't a subject I'm particularly interested in. The professors realize that not everyone is passionate about the topic and try to make it as interesting as possible for students that fit into that category. My classes this semester are primarily lecture based, but it's a small class so it's not the same as big university lectures. Lectures usually include the use of powerpoints or the black board, the important things are on those.

The classes at St. Bens and St. Johns are challenging! Our professors expect a lot from us, but it is in our best interest. Every professor I have had is willing to help in class as well as outside of class. To get a good grade you will have to work for it. The way I see it, it is more beneficial to have a hard teacher and learn more than to have an easy professor just get a good grade!

The classes at St. Ben's are very fun but serious at the same time.

Classes are 70 minutes long. It depends on what type of class you are in. Some profs lecture the whole time, some do group work the whole time and sometimes it's mixed. Some profs teach from powerpoint, some from the book. It really depends. The only thing that's universal is that the profs are all great and are all very knowledgeable in their area of study.
