The College of Southern Nevada is a 2/4 year community college. There are tons of academic opportunities and student life is quite average. There is an interaction between students amongst themselves and students with faculty. The food on campus is excellent but if you're wanting a full meal or buffet type cafeteria; the campus is not the best place to look. Classes are a perfect size from my experience-not too much of a large capacity and not too much of a small capacity; they're good enough to the point where the professor has much more interaction with individual students. The only negativity that I would give regarding this institution is the performance of faculty. Getting in contact with advisors or other members of the faculty for assistance with class placement, enrollment, or even as far as work study is not as easy as one would think. Things do get taken care of but not in a smooth consistent manner. Other than obtaining class material and help with academics is absolutely no problem. There are two libraries on one of the institutions campuses as well as a book store with additional material and a bookstore across the street, so, therefore finding resources are not a problem. In conclusion, I gave CSN three stars.

It is good in that the class sizes are not that big and it is easy to communicate with the teachers, but the staff that work there who run student services and those who are suppose to help students are rarely ever helpful and leave many students confused to the point where they drop out of school. This being so because they are not knowledgable of their job and how to help students either. So I would not say it's really the staffs fault, but the state for running the school so poorly.

This college honestly feels like home I would not have made another decision. I arrive early as possible and leave when the library and computer labs close. Academically, I have been helped and guided to the right path through the students, professors, and other faculty members that are available for assistance. There is motivation and inspiration to keep achieving my goals when I walk through building to building. Not everything is perfect, but its all about the experience and finding your path like I am doing with mine.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

After having a bad experience with Liberty University, I decided to go to my local community college. I did not expect it to be all that great but I was wrong! I absolutely loved it from day one. The cost is tremendously affordable, especially with the help pf the government (FAFSA). Since it is a small campus, it is much more friendlier and attentive to each student in particular. The food on campus is my one and only concern, too expensive for unpleasant food.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

My overall opinion of this school is that people should go and find out why so many people have graduated from there! Why so many people attend every semester!

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

I would say not having food that tastes good and is cheap.

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

How fast it will take me to get my degree and how much money I have saved.

What kind of person should attend this school?

A person who wants to save money and time!

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

I only consider the cafeteria food the worst thing about csn.

College of Southern Nevada is the average of the average. There is a lot of great opportunity if you know where to look, however it's not right in front of you like you would see if you were attending a university. You get an education which is mainly why i continued my education, i didn't continue my education for the extra activities, or the sororities. Those are all perks for me, my opinion would definitely be different though if that wasn't at least offered!

It could be better and it could be worse. There is not enough parking for how many students there are. There isn't enough eating space near the little snack areas, they are always packed because there are so many people. There should be more study areas since the library is always packed. Teachers are either really good or really bad. I haven't found a teacher that is in between yet. Most teachers are nice with office hours, some aren't there during their office hours and don't respond to emails well. People at the book store are usually pretty helpful. What really upsets me about this college is that it doesn't offer scholarships for the students.

College of Southern Nevada is a great college for students of all ages young and old. Its small class size allows students to meet other students as well as immediate attention from the instructors in case you have any questions. It's affordable, safe, and a fun learning environment.

It's alright. There aren't dormitories, and it's okay, the professors are really nice. They're helpful, and always talk to us, and keep pretty regular office hours. They cooperate with us, and they always do their best to try and help us with any problems we have, but there's always a few stragglers that are really strict.

The school has a lot to offer at a cheaper cost, especially if you want to get your prerequisites out of the way to make it easier when you go to a university. The teachers are there to help you succeed and they have a variety of class times and days a majority of the time. I would recommend CSN to anyone not sure where they want to go.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Beginning CSN, (College of Southern Nevada) I was not excited for it at all and was only going there because of the price. I had hesitated for a whole year before returning school, but my first semester turned out to be amazing. I met plenty of great people, including my professors who were amazing. They were able to sit down with me and get to know me personally and were great motivators. Not only did my professors help me with their class assignments, but had also offered to help with other classes or even advising on general college life. CSN was definitely a great first step to preparing me for a University.
