The College of Staten Island is a commuter school and I have had such diverse peers in each of my classes. There were students of all races with ages ranging between 18 years old to 50+ years old. There is always a mix of males and females from different class status’s from different incomes. I have met many people who were previously in the army and also many people who are in their twenties who are single parents with kids as well.

The student body at CSI is so diverse. you can always find a group/club to fit in with. If you go to 1c *the campus center* you can always find people hanging out there in the lounges, doing yoga, playing video games, etc. At lot of the students here are from Staten Island, or at least the New York City area, I have met some very interesting people at this school, to the point that I have even met many people who i never would have thought about talking to before having classes with them.

New York City is known for its extremely diverse population. This holds true for all of the city university of New York, including CSI. I have met students from 6 of the 7 continents but I am sure there is an Australian or two on campus I have yet to meet. This creates a wonderful community of students where it is impossible to feel out of place. Just like the diverse culture, the attire student attend classes in range from "I just rolled out of bed and into class" in pajamas to the "I just left work" professional outfits. Walking through the parking lot, you can find BMW's, Lexus', and a 1990 Honda Accord, all in a line. Once these students leave their cars no one can tell that they all fall in different finical areas. You are just as likely to find the owners of these three cars to be sitting at a lunch table together. The students here are a community, no matter their background.
