What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
College life has taught me how to multi task and how to acclimate myself to any situation possible. Exploring majors and careers in High school is important because it helps one discover what he/she enjoys and is good at. In addition, I would advice myself to search for scholarships and financial aid; Lack of money should keep no one from a better education. Lastly, I would tell myself that one of the best feelings in life is achieving what you set yourself to achieve.

Classmates of mine at College Of the Canyons tend to be very diverse in there studies and study techniques with some taking 16 units and working full time and others struggling with only two classes.

Diverse cultures in mixture with caring staff constitutes for the equivalent of College of the Canyons. My campus is by far the most unique community college because students and staff alike are looking towards one goal, success. Past reputations are left in the parking lot, when you enter a classroom you are an equal; not only are you acknowledge as being a valuable part of the classroom experience, but also a hard worker. Socially the students at College of the Canyons are one of a kind. Ultimately, COC welcomes everyone, from every community with open arms.

I wish I would have known more about transferring, my options, the unit requirements, I wasn't fully aware of them when I started.

The person who needs to explore their options and learn about himself or herself should attend COC. The variety of majors, the diverse student body, the helpful faculty, the inspiring counselors and the vast opportunities the college offers creates an environment where anyone can succeed when they commit to that success. College should be a time of question and individual prospect. College of the Canyons provides a place for this exploration to happen.

College of the Canyons is the fastest growing Community College in the nation. They have excellent music programs to enroll in, to give you experience and training. The teachers enjoy their jobs,and are willing to go above and beyond just answering your questions in class. You also can't beat the location of this college and the price of enrollment.

The only frustrating thing about College of the Canyons is that there are not enough upper level classes to accomodate its students. For example, I once had a linear algebra class that could only have 35 students enrolled but there were at least ten people trying to crash on top of the wait list. However, the college has been responding to this issue and has been creating more classes for students.

College of the Canyons is great at giving their students everything they need to succeed. There are three tutoring areas where tutors for math, English, science, and foreign languages are always available. These areas, along with their library, all have textbooks for students to use so students who can?t afford books but don?t qualify for financial aid can choose to use the campus? resources instead. It?s helped me stay focused and save time and money knowing that I could use their books between classes and have a tutor on hand to explain anything I don?t understand.

Typically my weekend consists of long hours at work because I don't usually allow myself to have a day off. In fact, I am very disappointed on my days off because I know I'm not making money sitting at home. However, I use my time wisely at home during the day by getting done necessary laundry, meal prepping my food in the kitchen, then cleaning up the kitchen, organizing random drawers or closets or pantries in the house, and studying for upcoming tests or working on homework projects. At night once all my work is done, which is usually pretty late, I allow myself to watch an hour or two of Netflix and then get some much needed sleep. The next day I am off to work, hopefully, and when I get home I make myself dinner and then head up to my room to work on my studies and check in with any updates on my school site or any grade changes.

There a lots of programs classes are small and school life there is very serious.

The most popular group is the honor club. For students doing honors and maintain a good grade there are lots of activities and benefits
