What's unique about your campus?

COD is highly diversified in it?s attempt to provide many educational avenues of exploration; and has a strong transfer system in place for preparing their students to move into the Cal State or UC systems and beyond. The quality of many of my instructors has been impressive and I, thus far, am positive my education is solid. My time at COD has been extremely enjoyable and I am confident toward the completion of my education. My personal goal is to achieve a Doctorate in my field of study; COD is providing a firm foundation toward that end.

What I consider the best thing about my school is that it is near home and I really dont have to go anywhere else to get a great degree. I can take fun electives while taking classes that I need to head towards a teaching career. I love it.

My school is located in our beautiful cochella valley, and because of this we are blessed with the opportunity to constantly be surrounded by diversity. The desert has so much culture, heritage, age, wisdom and beauty and it's schools are only a tribute to that. The fact that people from all walks of life have chosen to expand their intelligence and better themselves together is the best thing about college of the desert.

One of the best things about PPCC is the fact that there is always someone who is willing to help you. Standing in a long line at student services is almost a given, but you will always find someone who can answer your question or help you with your classes. It's easy to find people to help tutor you if you're having trouble. PPCC has an amazing writing center where you can get help with any type of paper. Or you can go to the math lab and have help on your math skills. It's amazing.

My school, although it is a community college and not a university, is diverse. We have students that come from other countries to study in America. They're so interesting to get to know and to have in a classroom because of their different perspective of life and education. I can study close to home and it is affordable for me to pay for on my own with my part-time job. I am a shy person to begin with so I enjoy that there are people I know and don't feel intimidated by to ask for help.

We have beautiful weather. The campus is located just over 100 miles from San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles. The mountains are even closer. There is sunshine most of the year. Class size is manageable so that there can be easy interaction with faculty.
