What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

Emily

People love pot.

I wish I had known that I would face challenges in the classroom as well as outside the classroom.

Honestly, I wish I had known that using the main storage company on campus would have been cheaper and much less stressful than using a student-run storage operation. It was the end of the year, and my bank account was pretty low. It seemed great when a student advertised his cheap storage space, but I did not know how difficult and expensive it could be to get my own storage equipment. The pick-up date changed, and I had to pack-up quickly. I left out so much stuff, I had to pay for overweight bags at the airport.

It's way too small

Students tend to be from a wealthy backgroud and give more attention to their attire and social life than to fully engaging in class. Being involved in parties, sports, or extra-carriculars is the only way to make friends. There is no way to get out of living on-campus for the first three years. The dating scene at CC is more like a hook-up scene.

How dependent students are on drugs and alcohol. and how little the financial aid office cares for its students.

I wish I had known how difficult it would be to take all the classes I am interested in while still being able to major in my chosen degree (my particular degree requires a substantial number of credit hours). However, I am not sure this problem is unique to Colorado College.
