I absolutely love the vet. tech. program here. We get so much hands on experience right from the beginning. We have acres of farmland and all kinds if animals. We are responsible for the care of pigmy goats, sheep, goats, a llama, four alpacas, two pigs, and between 5 and 8 horses. We also care for 3 birds, an eagle, some guinea pigs, ferrets, chinchillas, a hedgehog, a bunch or mice and rats, a green iguana, 4 snakes, and bearded dragon.

It’s a really good school with faculty that really care about you. This school is spread out over 11 campuses so you can take your classes at the ones closest to the ski resorts or if you need to take a special class offered at another campus you can.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Colorado Mountain College is an excellent school that helps make it easy to go to school and work in an effective and affordable way. They're constantly entering improvements and the teachers/staff are very engaged with the students. Overall, CMC is a great place, to which I feel is very underrated.

My overall opinion of Steamboat Springs Colorado Mountain College is that it is a campus you go to if you are looking for a small school that has all the activities mother nature can provide while getting a solid education for a reasonable price. Also I have learned that most student that go to this campus are from the east coast which was interesting to me because I feel like most eastern folks like to live in their massive citys.

Overall this is an excellent small school. There might not be close shops around that you can walk to, but there are good places to go to if you have transportation. The school is perfectly located on a mountain so you don't have to worry about noise. You're surrounded by nature all around so it is peaceful.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

CMC is a wonderful college with great class sizes and professors who really care about their students. The classes are focused and students want to learn. A lot of students are returning to college or attending for the first time in adulthood to open new doors so it is a better learning environment than you would often find at a university.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

This is a school providing phenomenal opportunities in the mountains of Colorado. As one of the most inexpensive bachelor's degrees available in the nation, with small class sizes and dedicated, devoted instructors, this network of 11 campuses is a hidden gem.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I love CMC. It is small and affordable and your grow bonds with everyone you meet. You have the opportunity to know the president of the college and she makes time to talk to you. The food is okay but everyone is very active and cares about each other.

A Variety of Opportunities for All

Colorado Mountain College ("CMC") offers 11 different locations across the state of Colorado, most of which reside in ski towns. Whether you choose the Champagne Powder® (and yes, that is a registered trademarked term) of Steamboat Springs, or you choose the banana belt weather of Buena Vista (pronounced "BEW-na Vista"), you're guaranteed to find an activity that interests you. What is truly unique about CMC is the variety of different programs throughout their campuses. It's almost a little overwhelmingly difficult to decide what you want to do because of all of their sui generis programs. If you want to be a Veterinary Technician, the Spring Valley Campus in Glenwood Springs offers a real-life learning opportunity on their 220-acre farm. If you just want to play outside, the Leadville Campus, in my opinion, has one of the best Outdoor Recreation Leadership degrees at the best price. For me, I have been working as a Park Ranger for the State of Colorado and have recently decided to go back to school, now that I know what I want to do. The Leadville campus offers a phenomenal degree in Natural Resource Management. Fortunately, I have been able to get "in-district tuition" which costs roughly $57.00 a credit hour. In 2009, I attended the CMC campus based out of Steamboat Springs and was thoroughly impressed with the instructors. Most were very knowledgeable teachers who could be teaching at big prestigious universities, but have chosen to live a simple, modest life in these smaller mountain towns. The only reason why I gave this college 4 stars, is because of 1 teacher that I had this previous summer, who unfortunately didn't teach. I spent money out of my own pocket, and didn't receive an ounce of information from her. It was an English class, and I didn't receive any feedback or grades until the last week of class. How can you improve if you don't get any feedback? Other than that lone English class, I have nothing but positive things to say. The tuition is cheap, the teachers (most of them) are great, the surroundings are INCREDIBLE, oh and did I mention that you can get your Bachelors degree at a few of the locations as well?? CMC provides students with creative options for their future.
