Colorado State University-Fort Collins Top Questions

Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

Josh

It is in a beautiful part of the country, plenty of skiing in the winter plenty of hiking and outdoor activities during the spring. If you like playing games, socializing and having a good time with friends, that happens year round!

Kayla

The outdoor activities that are available are great. Not every universities can bus you to the ski slopes for the day or experience rock climbing in the mountains. The physical security is great in the town and on campus. The students are very friendly. It has that cow town feeling. Nothing elite about this campus or town.

Diana

First of all, Colorado State University is close to home. I heard of many goodness (friendly environment, friendly people) here. It is a competitive school. They offer a vet program here also and there had been good remarks about students who graduate from this school. Most professors here are knowledgable and enthusiastic about teaching and encourage students to learn.

Amanda

Colorado State has a small town feel but at the same time we are a fairly big city of around 120,000 people. My school seems to be pretty unified especially during difficult times such as finals week. Students are usually friendly and willing to help one another out in times of necessity. I am honestly proud of my school and wouldn't change my college experience for the world.

Sir

Well, they have a black student services here at my school. I didnt know that programs like this were around. It is good place to help one meet other people and another place one could do work.

Zeke

CSU and Fort Collins are very frienly, accepting, and easygoing. People who apply themselves a bit here go on to very good things, and the academic and social environment make that a pretty easy thing to do. People have fun, do well, and get along. While I wish we had a more diverse campus, I feel that the community as a whole is very accepting and friendly.

Jennifer

I really didn't consider any other schools. Colorado State was the only school I applied to and I wouldn't have done it differently now that I am here.

Katie

The closeness of everyone no matter the age, race, etc. Also, our care for the enviornment is huge!

Jordan

We place a lot of emphasis on improving the environment, recycling and being "green", there is a lot of promotion on what we do that greatly helps the environment. Also we have tens-hundreds of programs and organizations that are always doing events so there is almost never a day where there is "nothing to do"

Benjamin

The people at CSU students have a sense of pride for their school and their athletics more than any other school I have been to. Classrooms are very comfortable and the techers are very respectable and smart.

Hannah

The professors have a lot of great experience in their fields and are usually very helpful.

Amy

I think that my school is absolutely beautiful. It has an incredible campus, and our emphasis on the environment really sets us apart from a lot of other schools at the moment. We have so many students working to make the world more environmentally friendly. CSU is in a beautiful city, Fort Collins, right next to the mountains, and students' love of the outdoors is really evident on campus daily.

Richie

NOPE!

Kyle

Pike what?!?!?!

Greg

Fuck yea CSU

Lisa

CSU is a school of rich kids whose parents pay for them to basically party and drink every night. I think its extremely hard to meet people unless you join an activity, which is a challenge in itself.

Ashley

The biggest complaint I had about my undergraduate work was organic chemistry. The first semester professor was awesome, but the second semester was taught by a man whose aim was to fail as many people as possible and unfortunately, it didn't seem like the Chemistry department cared. Other than that, my I have thoroughly enjoyed both my undergraduate and graduate work at CSU

Dan

I think that CSU does not embrace greek life or even make an effort to help them out. There is so much that a large greek community can do for a university and there is so little that CSU does to promote that.

Dale

Thanks

Abdullah

No thanks

Eric

I'm not trying to be rude, I just find a substantial amount of this survey to be pointless.

Charles

I think that more night classes should be offered.

John

I don't see how some of the kids that go to school at CSU go there, and Im stuck taking 15 worthless credits to get into the school of business.

Ryan

WOOOOHOOOO

Andy

CSU is a great school and i love going to school here.

Lane

I hate the CSU parking, also hate the stupid campus police. They have nothing better to do but to cause trouble. Also what is the deal with girls driving on campus? Im walking through a cross walk and this girl floors it to make a turn almost creaming my ass. wtf?

Ryan

I think that the CSU should reconsider raising tuition rates in order to splurge more money on our athletic dept. That money needed to be earned and I don't think they did enough to be rewarded.

Charlie

I LOVE CSU

Tim

I love CSU, it's a great place to figure out who you are and who you want to be.

Kate

good survey

Toby

CSU isnt really anymore unique than anyother school, but it works for the thiousands enrolled in it. I dont believe it leaves anyone out and we accept all just like it should be.

Daniel

NO everyhting was great

meg

csu is the best

Alex

I really like CSU. I am glad that I transfered here. I just wish I would of known what I wanted to do earlier. It is way better to be prepared and know what you wanna do and how to go about that process. It is also a great idea to meet with your advisor even after you declare a major so they can help you through the process of college. It gets a bit overwhemling at times, but it goes by fast. Just stay focused, even if you hate a class, because its easy to bring your gpa down but hard to bring up!

Final advice - make sure you take some time to explore the area around campus. Norman really has a lot to offer for dining, nightlife and shopping. Even a little jaunt north to campus corner will put you within skipping distance to great restaurants like La Luna (huge margaritas and free queso!), Victoria's (homemade pasta/Italian), Café Plaid (great sandwiches, soups and salads), Othello's (Italian food and the occasional open mic comedy night), Turquoise Café (to-die-for brunch) and Hideaway Pizza (try the Pizza of the Gods). Don't miss happy hour at The Library (the bar, not the building), warm nights are best spent on the patio at The Mont, and give Opie's a chance. I promise you'll have fun dancing the night away to retro hits as long as you've had enough to drink.
