I would say so.
I think that the tuition is cheaper than CU or a few others, but I still think you can get a quality education at CSU.
N/A
For part of the school, but definitely not the other 3/4 of it.
I would say that they are usually accurate...but drawn out a little too far.
These sterotypes could vary person to person
Some what
yes.
No, not everyone who goes to CSU has an ag. major and not everyone loves being outside all day everyday.
Yes after almost one year here i wouldn't say my perceptions of csu have changed and ive met so many awesome people
Some stereotypes are always accurate for a small percentage of people, but I like CSU because I feel that there is a great deal of diveristy and lots of different types of people come here. So yea some people smoke pot and some people are farmers but that definitely doesn't represent the majority.
Not at all, my business school out ranks Boulder by a lot, and not all people here are agg students.
No definitely not--if anything that's CU. Really CSU is just a group of people who like to take it easy and have fun.
Some are to an extent, but others are not. First off, CSU does have really good programs in Engineering and Veterinary Science, but the school also has many, many other great programs, such as construction management and business. They just don't always get the spotlight and publicity that the top programs here get. Football still is the biggest sport here by far, so that doesn't really surprise me. The CSU vs. CU rivalry is still pretty big, even among alumni. The campus environment is a bit more open-minded than I thought, but it still seems on the conservative side compared to a lot of schools. The classes are pretty big for a lot of the gen. ed courses.
In my experience all of the professors I have met have been wonderful. And all of the people I have met have been very nice and welcoming.
We are an Ag college, but most of the people I know are not ag people. It's our beginnings; where we came from, and I don't think that we should be ashamed of that. However, I would say that our college has done a lot of changing since it began.
From my personal expierence i have not tried to apply to CU. CSU serves all students interested in many different feilds of interest.
i don't know
This stereotype isn't by any means true. Just because we live in a town where people farm doesn't mean that we are all farmers.
No because I could have gotten into CU but I like Fort Collins a lot better than Boulder. Many of the students could have gotten into CU or other schools but chose CSU because of the amazing town and atmosphere around campus.
no.
These stereotypes are not accurate, when walking on campus you see few coyboys, truly, i just think it is CU people judging
I do believe these stereotypes are accurate. I love the campus and the laid back feeling of the students is nice. The students are focused on academics, but know how to relax and have a good time while still being responsible and looking out for one another.
Every stereotype has some truth but you can never stereotype that large of a group of people and be accurate
NO
No. I know a lot of people from big towns. There are many diversities, and I don't know any hicks.
Nope
No. There are a lot of students with ag majors, but the majority of the school is made up of students from larger cities.
for the most part, a lot are true. but it makes the school what it is which i love.
Yea I think so. It is laid back.
It seems like most everyone is originally from Illinois however you do find more locals then you would at CU Boulder.
Yes
No not at all. Most people I have met didn't want to go to places like CU and CSU as their first choice of school. And most of the students aren't cowboys....
Sure, there are going to be parties but that doesn't make CSU a "party" school, many of my friends and colleagues don't go to parties or drink at all.
One would like to think bad stereotypes are never accurate, but at CSU some are true to a certain extent. I do think that having different kinds of people at a university makes the experience all the better and more enriching, thats what college is about.
I believe these stereotypes are very unaccurate. While CSU did start out as an agricultural school, today the programs offered are widely varied and some of the best programs in the state.
No definitely not
No, not every person with dread-locks are hippies
For the most part yes- like sororities.
We are rednecks
I don't think they are all true. I think the CSU is as good as CU, but in different ways. I think that CSU has a wide variety of academics, and there are people that succeed at all of them. I would have to agree about the football team, but I love them. I think it is not entirely true about us all being drinks, but really what college students aren't?
Yes, these are very accurate.
no
No
The stereotypes can be accurate to a point. Of course these type of people go to this school, however it does not pertain to the whole student body
Some do, Some don't
The alcohol part may be since around 70% of students who attend CSU drink, but certainly no t the good looking girls part.
A lot of people dont think that the Greeks are very friendly people and they just stick to themselves but I dont think that is really true. There are a couple of sorority girls that live on my floor (and me not being in a sorority) doesnt really affect our relationship. We are all friends and they even invite you to some of their parties.
