What's the hardest thing about freshman year?

Jessica

Realizing you never really get to leave high school. The teachers do expect more of you, but a lot of freshman level classes are filled with just as much busywork and tedious assignments. Especially for those of you who took AP or Honors programs in high school, just look forward to sophomore year when you will really start getting a taste of REAL college courses!

Laura

The hardest thing about freshman year is balancing the adjustment period of being in a new place with classes and work. Moving away from home and into your own space can be an overwhelming experience. Some people handle it better than others. The atmosphere in Fort Collins is a lot different from most other cities. You go from living at home with your parents and rules and curfews and high school all day long to this huge campus with thousands of kids and a free rec center and parties and millions of things to do within walking distance. Its a big change for a lot of people. Its hard to get yourself into a rythm of shortened days and homework while still trying to do all the fun things around you.
