Whenever I say I am from Colorado and go to school here, people always ask if I spoke pot. So I'm assuming one of the stereotypes is that we are all hippies and smoke a lot. Another this is that since it used to be an Ag school, a lot of people assume that we are farmers.

From my perspective before coming to CSU, I thought that it was a school primarily for Engineers (and related fields), Art majors, and Vets. Obviously I knew about the CU vs. CSU rivalry, so I figured that CSU was big on football and had more cowboys than the hippies in Boulder. I also thought that the school was more socially conservative, so, for example, gay people would feel more pressure to stay in the closet. I also thought that the classes here would be huge.
