What is your overall opinion of this school?

Harper

diversity.

Riley

Well I think the best part of CSU is the friendliness of everyone on campus and the relaxed atmosphere. I think the school's size is just right, and people I talk to think that CSU is a great school from the beautiful campus to the people. I spend most of my time either in the plaza (on nice days) or in the student center.

Hannah

The best thing about CSU is the fact that the people here in Fort Collins are all very friendly. This town was very welcoming to all the freshman and I felt right at home the first week. CSU is a fairly large school, with around 25,000 students. This is bittersweet because the classes are massive, but there are so many people to meet. When I tell people I go to CSU, I never get anything but "isn't Fort Collins great?"

Christine

The best thing about CSU is the town and the atmosphere. The campus is amazing and is so pretty during the summer. Everyone here is so nice and friendly. During the fall when all the leaves are changing and you drive up to Horsetooth and look out it is amazing because its so amazing.

Tom

I love CSU. It is the best school in Colorado. It is friendly, warm, and inviting. I have not felt more art home than I do at CSU.

Molly

CSU is a great size, there is about 25,000 people that attend and it offers a great education. It is definently a college town, i forget that there are actually family's that are raised here because I feel like all I see is college students!

Megan

The best thing about CSU is the students and the enviornment they create. I have felt very welcomed being a freshman and found it easy to meet new people and experience new things. I feel that CSU is just the size for me and my lifestyle. When people hear that I go to CSU they are usually very enthusiastic and ask questions about the school; that is if they don't go to Boulder! Fort Collins offers a great college town feeling with so many things to do for people our age. Students have a great amount of pride here at CSU. When you walk around campus you see so many students dressed in ram gear and in my opinion that's because we are proud to be rams, and free shirt give aways are great!

Julie

The best thing about CSU is the overall vibe. I feel like peple really make an effort to be friendly and I think that roots from the fact that Fort Collins is such a pleasent place to live. In a lot of ways I feel Fort Collins could be considered a typical college town since CSU is a relatively large campus and student interests are naturally going to be incorporated. Fort Collins has a lot bars, restaraunts, and stores. Colorado State University is a good place to go to school. The professors are very knowledable and the campus is very accessable. Since it is such a large institution I have not had as much luck with the advisors but that is a reasoanble trade off. I went to a smaller school last year and I have noticed that Colorado State has much more pride then I had ever imagined.

Brynn

CSU needs a parking garage close to the student center for convenience sake.

Andy

I think CSU is just the right size for a university, Fort Collins is a great college town and I can see myself living here for a while. I spend most of my time at work. I work on campus. I like CSU's administration considering I work for them. I feel like there is a lot of school pride.

Mason

The location is definitely one of the best things about CSU. Living in the #1 city in the nation is always an honor, and anyone who has been to Fort Collins will agree. It is an incredible city with endless opportunities without the "big city" feel. The campus is right in the middle of town, which allows for easy access to anywhere within a few minutes drive or bike ride. People are excited about CSU when they come to visit or go on tours of the campus. While talking about all of the various clubs and organizations, especially within the college of business, parents are just as excited as their students to get involved on campus. There is not a lot of school spirit, but I feel like there is a lot of school pride. Especially when it comes to games with our rival school, CU Boulder. But it is really sad that students only judge going to athletic games if our team is winning. Being one of only three students to go to the CSU girls basketball game against Wyoming, when it was on TV mind you, really showed me just how students don't care if we aren't winning.

Bevan

Colorado State is the perfect size for a university. It is not small enough for you to know everyone, so there is always an opportunity to meet new people, but it's not so big that you get overwhelmed. You can get from one side to the other in about 10-15 minutes walking. I love that the dorms are separate from classes. So when you live on campus, you can go to school and come home and not feel like you're still at school. Most of my time on campus is spent in the library or at the Lory Student Center, where there are lots of restaurants, shops, and information available.

Matt

One thing i would change is the placement of building on campus. I love the fact there are no roads through it, and there is a lot of green everywhere. but our football field is so far away. i woud make it so everyone could party on their front porch for games and walk to games. you see much more school spirit this way. When i tell people that i go to CSU, they are jealous of the fact that i just life in Colorado. But CSU has the best environment of any college. the people are great, they are what makes the school great I have seen other campus and to tell you the truth, none of the building here make me just wanna stare and look at them. their pretty or beautiful and i think changing that, would bring a lot of attention here.

Kim

The best thing about CSU is the town. This is a very comfortable college town, and also a comfortable campus. It is very pretty. The size is just right for my liking. People are not surprised that I go here becuase a lot of people from my high school do becuase it is so close. I spend a lot of my time in the dorms with my friends. Sometimes I am in the LSC or library. The administration at CSU is fine. I have not had any problems. The controversy seems to be rising fees becuase our athletics are bad. I feel that when we are winning, there is a lot of school pride. There are many things I will remeber about my first year here and getting aquainted. The complaints are the rising fees, and parking in Corbett!!

Kristen

The best thing about CSU is the town it is in. Fort Collins has a lot to offer being a centralized local community. There is a lot of locally based companies that appeal to the anti-corporate mindset that a lot of students have come to obtain. Plus there are 3 breweries within a mile of eachother- thats the best padding for being a student, good local beer.

Sam

CSU is a very good school and is in a great town. It is about the right size for me, and i dont really have any complaints

Ashley

I love going to CSU, it has a great student atmosphere. I feel comfortable speaking my mind in class and people are open to different opinions. I think that it has the big school enviornment but that you can make if feel smaller and still have some small classes where you can meet other students. I spend most of my time in my dorm room because i feel t is a good place to study and hang out with friends, I have met man great new people through living in the dorms and think that they are handled well here at CSU. There is a lot of school pride aroung CSU....even when our sports teams aren't doing well student still wear their colors with pride. FOR SURE a college town, there are lots of places for 21 and under kids to hang out and old town is a fun place to spend weekend nights.

Mario

I think one of the best things about CSU is the beautiful campus. The campus is picturesque in all of the 4 seasons, and it's just a great place to be. Another plus of attending CSU is being right near Old Town Fort Collins, a great little town with much to do including great restaurants, coffee shops, entertainment venues, not to mention the great nightlife. One of my most fond experiences thus far would have to be attending a local band concert at the entertainment venue, The Aggie, in Old Town, it was a lot of fun and I had a great time.

Chris

I do think CSU is a bit overcrowded, especially the parking situation, I would like that to change. Here in Colorado and many other states CSU receives its fue credit and I have no problem saying I go here. I like the town it is a good and diverse community with college kids and many young families not to mention some seasoned folks. I don't like the demonstrators on campus but that is something all campuses endure and is part of it, but I still don't like it. There is a good amount of school pride and I do enjoy telling people about my school.

Lane

I really enjoy the campus, there are so many things to do, and places to go. I like how the buildings are in groups depending on majors, so it makes it easier to get to classes. I would really change the size of some of the class, sometimes classes of 200-300 people just get overwelming and half the time the person behind you is talking so you can't hear the teacher. But the class is too big for the teacher to care about one student talking. I think there are a lot of administration that really care about your grade and are willing to help, but then there are a few teachers that seem like they don't care at all. I think our school has school pride for a couple of games, but once a team starts to lose then the school gives up on the team, and quits coming to games.

Michelle

I absolutely love CSU. I am from a town similar to Fort Collins, Grand Junction, so it seems like a home away from home but better. It is an amazing college town, and CSU overall is wonderful. People get so excited when I tell them I am from a University, and that I actually got out of Junction and that I am not going to a Community College. I believe that people may think that CSU's campus is too big, but I think that it is a good size college. It isn't too small that you run into the same people everyday, but meet at leasst one new person daily.

Lauren

Studying at the library is where I mostly am There could be more school pride I think

Sara

I have always wanted to attend CSU. During my time here, I discovered what I think to be the best thing about CSU. I think the best thing about it is it's location. Fort Collins is a beautiful city, I come from a small town and I don't feel overwhelmed here. It's close the the outdoor excitement of the mountains, and hussle and bussle of Denver. The people are friendly and outgoing. I think with the mixture of all the things to do, and all the people to meet CSU is the best school for me.

Alison

I think that CSU has the perfect size of people and we have tons a school spirit. I think the open area in Lory Student Center is amazing because there's so much going on there to get involved with. Most of my time is spent in Moby because I am an athlete.

Thomas

When i think of CSU i think that it could use some imporovements in the dormitory buildings. These buildings look very outdated and it looks like we are living in the 80's. I live in Allison, the rooms are filled with nasty carpet and old looking capnets that make the dorm room very not comfortable. Other than that I think CSU is a great school that offers every student the equal opportunity.

Michelle

I love the size of CSU. People from out of state have never heard of it, always think it is same as CU. Love the Oval, student center, all the grassy sunny areas. Fort Collins has great chill bars, but little if you want to dance. I think CSU administration does a shitty job communicating with students. ASCSU is a good representation of the students but doesn't keep students informed about their activities enough.

Kyle

Fort Collins is probably the best place to live that most people will ever visit. The town is a great size and loves the university.

Toby

The size of CSU is just right. The campus is in a great location however, it leaves little room for expansion. The population is a good size and seems to have shown steady growth since my arrival. The buildings on campus dont all match and there isnt a consitent them but the campus is beautiful. Because are atheletic teams are not in the top conferences or, recently, even in the top of their own conferences, the school spirt that Universities generate through sports teams is low.

Brian

The CSU community consists of a very diverse group of people from all over the world. Much like the the city of Fort collins, the people of CSU are really friendly and laid back.

Natalie

I love CSU, Fort collins is a great town. It's a small college town which makes it easier to adapt. The campus is in the middle of the town so it feels like it's a little town itself.

Kate

Everyone is so friendly and the campus seems a lot smaller than it is. I always see someone I know when I am out walking. There is always something to do with the foothills a few miles away. I spend a lot of time in the Rec Center, dorm halls, the library, and the Student Center. The professors are great, love what they are doing. I will always remember doing a sunrise hike up horsetooth with a group of my friends. We left at 5am and got to the top of the mountain right as the sun was coming up. On of my friends brought his guitar and we sang and played music.

Shawn

I like the CSU campus. I wish the weather would pick what it wants to be though.

Sierra

The best thing about CSU is our campus and the friendly atmosphere of Fort Collins. I think our school size is just about right with bout 26,000 students attending. I would change the increasing tuition rate, which is supposed to rise by 19{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} by next year. Fort Collins is definitely a college town, but in a great way. It's really easy to meet a lot of friendly chill people.

Melissa

Our athletics teams are bad, football and basketball, but they still want us, regular students, to pay more for them. when they are the ones who get scholarships and free meal plans and whatever else. therefore i think the school should make them play for things and not the students who dont play and have to watch them lose every game.

Dawson

CSU is a great school, and after spending almost the whole year here, I wouldn't have changed my mind about this school one bit. Ft. Collins is a great college town, and I love the atmosphere of it. CSU is a safe place, and I feel very safe when walking around campus or anywhere in Ft. Collins. Living in the dorms is also a great experience, and I have met some of the most amazing people there. We created so many great memories.

Allison

I think CSU is the perfect size, not too big, not too small. I also like that Ft collins is a college town. there is a really good amount of school pride. Not too much or too little.

Amy

I spend most of my time in the College of Business. The size of my school is just right. People are excited that I am from out of state and also puzzled since I choose such a landlocked school.

Meg

THe best thing about CSU is that although it's a relatively large campus, it's still small enough that you know several people and teachers on campus. You can't walk across campus without seeing tons of people you know.

Stacey

The best thing about CSU would be the people. Professors, students, administrators...they're all pretty good! If I could change one thing I'd give CSU more funding, we do not get enough money from the state or Alumni contributions. People often ask me if I've been in a riot I say I'm from CSU, or they ask how the mountains are. The biggest recent controversy was the F*** Bush newspaper issue...not too good to explain to the parents. CSU's administration is often misunderstood, they try their best with the allocations they have been given. CSU has immense school pride when it is compared to CU.

Sam

If I could do it over again, I would go to a much smaller school. CSU is way to big and I hate not having that close communitiy one would have at a smaller university.

Kristyn

I love CSU. It is the right size for me, just big enough. I feel like there should be more school pride, I love schoo spirit because it a common denominator between people of different backgrounds. I love the town (Fort Collins) that CSU is located in.

Allison

I love CSU. its the perfect size and i really love living in a college town. i like the school pride because its there but not shoved in your face. the people are all really nice too (students and staff)

Evan

There is a lot of construction on campus and it is happening on all ends. If that construction weren't happening the University would surely look more professional and clean to visitors and new students. But I do realize that this is for the near future and that the construction is moving at a fantastically fast pace. Thousands of students and I have come to the conclusion that the University's police department take a bit too much time patrolling outside of campus and abusing their power outside of campus. Yes yes, I do know that they are real police officers but when I see them roaming miles outside of campus looking for something or someone to regulate I feel that they are infringing upon my privacy as a student and as a resident of Fort Collins. Yes, I have been run down by the CSU PD. Yes I do feel that the Fort Collins PD handle this city very well, and enough to force the campus police to stay within their grounds. Laurel and LeMay? Get back to campus where you belong! Taft and Mulberry? Jiminy!

Theresa

I love CSU! I love saying that I go to a big university and people usually say that its a good choice. The town is really nice too.

Steph

The best thing about CSU is the community. CSU is in the perfect location for a college. I would change the layout of the campus to make it not so spread and and more distinctive in appearance. The school is the perfect size.

Dylan

I find CSU the perfect size, I really like the fact that it's not too big or small. I also like the fact that Fort Collins is a college city, i mean, everywhere you go you see something that has to do with "CSU" or "Rams" and that really gives you a huge sense of pride.

Taylor

I think that the classes are too big and that they need to downsize for more one on one.

emily

i love the campus and how open it is. i think the school is just right size wise, i have some large classes, but for the most part they aren't terribly large. i feel like there is definitely a lot of school pride.

Max

I was questioning going to CSU because I have grown up in Fort Collins and was looking for a bit of a change, but now I'm so glad I decided to stay. CSU has so many things to offer. There are hundreds of clubs and organizations, and just generally a ton of new people to meet around campus. Before coming to CSU, when I told people I was planning on coming here I pretty much felt like I was just settling by staying in Fort Collins. Now that I'm here I have so much more Ram Pride and would say that CSU compares to almost any collegiate school in the nation.

Jesse

The one thing that I woulld change about CSU would be that fact that it is not as "green" as I would like it to be.
