The Community College of Rhode Island opened a lot of doors for me. I enrolled while concurrently completing my senior year of high school through the Running Start Program. This provided a great transition for me from high school to a more independent & free environment. I had the opportunity to take a wide range of classes to explore my interests and discover what wasn't quite for me. As an alumna, it saddens me to see the state of transition that CCRI seems to be in now. It's time for CCRI to start evolving. Rather than making cuts to facilities, the administration should be looking at how to best utilize the existing space for the entire college community. There is a need for more studying spots, an intercampus shuttle and increased class offerings across the campus.

Community College of Rhode Island is a great learning experience. The school itself is not too overwhelming. Most people are very friendly. Professors are easy to approach and are very smart. Would recommend to someone who is looking for a solid 2 year learning experience and saving money.

The dental health programs are the best in Rhode Island. They provide clinical services and hands on experience. The graduation rate is 100% since last year. Though, the hygienist program is seemingly impossible to be accepted into. They got rid of the waiting list and go purely by merit. Which makes it hard on us working moms.

Very good college to help anyone start of their first two years. They are affordable and helpful in finding classes and setting you up for success! The class sizes are great, and the professors explain the material well. As long as you study the classes are profound enough to understand. Gives a good introductory to college.

Its a good starter college, to get your gen-eds and figure out if you really are college material. I find that people are not really interested in socializing too much, partly because the age ranges and backgrounds of everyone are so diverse. It is a community college as well, so most people do not stick around too long, which could contribute to the lack of socializing. Clubs and extracurricular activites are only really available at the main campus. However I do find classes to be adequate and professors are generally very understanding and helpful.

They are a good school filled with people who want to better themselves and it shows. The people in the school are really nice and when someone is new and looks like they don’t know something they are always there to help them and are really involved in the school.

CCRI is a good overall school. There are great Professors that are always available to help after class. The school provides tutoring when needed. The students are friendly and helpful. Plus, the school is great foundation for a two year college. It has a lot of career options and you can take courses in their multiple locations as well as on line.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

If you are trying to find your way, and unsure, and need the affordability, CCRI is the place to go. Everyone from different backgrounds, ethnicities and beliefs come together as a community and you learn so much. Professors WANT to be there. Their enthusiasm and availability is beyond measures. I wish they would have an extended program other than Associates Degree and Certifications.
