Concordia College at Moorhead Top Questions

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

Nicole

Although I do not think may things are bad about my college, the worst thing is probably the weight room at the school. It is small and outdated, however, there are still weights to be lifted so it is reawlly not that bad.

Ellie

Is it possible that I can't think of anything that would fall in this category? I really can't!!

Cherae

The worst thing about Concordia is the stigma that comes along with it. If you attend Concordia, other people think you are rich, smart, and don't have to work for anything. For me, this is unfair to be labeled all these things just because of my choice of college. I've worked for everything I have and I intend to continue that with the help of Concordia and their amazing schooling.

Samantha

The fact that the campus is located in a small town can give it a small town feel. Although there is nothing directly wrong with the education offered, sometimes it is easy to feel in a bubble.

Kayla

The one thing I consider the worse thing about my school would have to be the cost to go here. It cost roughly $34,000 for just one year, and where I come from, the household I was raised up in, that is a lof of money. Yeah, I know they don't get as much help from the government as a public school but this is just way too much, and I can't afford going here any more.

Holly

The administrative offices tend to give students the run around and when you need something accomplished through one of the offices, it tends to get forgotten about or not taken care of.

Kalli

While new ideas and thoughts are accepted readily here, more established ideas are not. While liberal ideas, which are often not commonly accepted in society, are accepted here, often times those holding conservative ideas may have difficulties finding others with similar political and recreational interests. With that - you do feel unaccepted if you do not have similar ideas from the whole.

Brittany

IT'S A LOT OF WORK!

Kaitlyn

The only truly negative aspect about this school, is the fact that I have encountered individuals who are at times, rather pompous. There are times that I sense that this college truly believes it is elite and special. The college is very special, but what I mean to say is that at times there seems to be a lack of humility.

The worst thing about Concordia is the relative homogeneity of the ?o?ulation. Mostly the student body is com?rised of u??er middle class Scandinavian Lutherans with blond hair. There are many international students who mainly form close grou?s, but the students are largely very similar. It is not too obvious, nor necessarily a harmful thing. College is a time to meet new ty?es of ?eo?le and mix cultures, traditions, religions, and languages. Concordia is a great school but does not offer much diversity among the student body, largely only because its in the MidWest.

Hannah

I consider the lack of diversity to be the worst thing about my school. I would really like to see more cultural/religious/economic diversity present on campus. I would like these diversities to be represented.

Brady

The high cost for tuition is the one downfall.

Kayla

How cold is gets walking to class in the winter.

Jared

The higher costs associated with a private college. Its much cheaper to go to a state school in my area, but when considering the quality of education the additional cost is well worth it.

Jenna

It's in Moorhead, and there are not many cultural events in the area. There used to be very few places to hang out on campus after normal business hours, but that changed this year.

Madison

It is too expensive! There is so much to pay for!

Zack

Parking is probably the worst thing about this school. Since it is the middle of Moorhead, there is not much room left to expand the campus, so sometimes the parking lot for your dorm is on the other side of campus. The campus is not too big, though, so it isn't a huge problem.
