Overall, Concordia University-Texas is a great school. There is an awesome community of students and the professors are always attentive and willing to work with you. The curriculum is challenging, yet engaging. There could be more school events and school pride among students.

Concordia is such a lovely university, there are so many genuinely nice and welcoming people who attend. The professors really do care about your well being and want you to succeed. The classroom sizes are very small which allows for a lot of one on one conversations with the professors during discussions. There are always a ton of great and exciting activities going on around campus. There is a lot of influence to be involved on campus and to really make it feel like a home for yourself. The campus is gorgeous and we are very connected to nature. Religion is a very big aspect of this university but it is not forced upon anyone. If you want to feel like you matter in college, this is the school for you. You do not feel like just a number here.

Awesome! Outstanding professors! Beautiful campus! The atmosphere is incredible for learning and for intellectual conversation. The scenic Hill country of Austin Texas provides a panoramic backdrop for nature and meditation. The professors are always available either in office, email, or by phone to provide assistance to all students.

Concordia is a small Lutheran University, but is very open to anyone and everyone is welcome. It's a very tight nit community and has a good amount of different activities and student organizations to get involved in. It can sometimes feel like high school, but I believe that could happen at any small school. Concordia or, as we like to call it, CTX is a beautiful campus with a unique layout, found on a nature preserve, small classrooms, and overall great community with reliable teachers. It's definitely great for those who would like a small university.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

    You should apply for all of the scholarships. Not just a few, but every single one you can find. you'll end up needing them. Take your time and figure out what you want to do with your life, because you don't need to know it right at age 18. Know that some people will act nice, but actually want to stab you in the back. Also know that some people who look like they'd be the kind to stab you in the back can actually be very loyal and good friends, given the chance. Never accept a friend's offer to drink if that friend is from a small town of less than 100 people, and he or she will be buying all of your drinks. Because they'll think that wine should follow beer. And that's just wrong. Also, bet someone that we'll have an African American president before the end of the decade. Bet a lot of money and hope that by giving you this advice I hasn't changed the future. Now that I think about it, you probably shouldn't even gamble. It's illegal.

  3. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

    The worst thing about our school is that a lot of times some of our christian leaders give christians a bad name. They will be a little hypocritical and speak against the very things they do--but that is a struggle we all have! Another bad thing is that we don't have sororities, or fraternities.

  4. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

    The beauty of our campus. All the bulidings have been redone or just built last year since Concordia Texas was moved from its old location in central Austin, to a north Austin location. We are now on a wildlife preserve with beautiful scenery, especailly from the dorms. The dorms are wonderful! They were built last year and I was one of the first to live in them. With a microwave and minifrig in everyone as well as a private bathroom with a tub and shower for each room!

    You should attend Concordia University at Austin if you aspire to live a life that will benefit those around you. We're a campus that revolves around loving others and being christian leaders. There are many non-christians at this school, that are not forced to "convert" and they are included in all the activities - we don't judge! We also help the homeless in various ways and encourage anyone to bring their passion to our school and we will get people involved! Also if you want teachers that will actually help you out and work with you, come here!

    It is not close to my home. I have a long commute. Cost, for my family it is pretty expensive.

All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA. Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
