Describe your favorite campus traditions.

Acceptance of all people regardless of sexual orientation, ethnicity, religious affliation, socio-economic status, etc. It also has a beautiful campus during all seasons. There is alot of faculty, especially in the sciences, that want you to succeed. They have always been there to help me with my questions due to subject material, getting recommendations for summer programs, and getting the opportunity to conduct research.

Marina

We have one of the most beautiful campuses in the country and a top notch science department.

Alicia

Last year, as a junior, I headed the Senior Week Committee. Throughout the spring semester we coordinated major events for the seniors last week at the school and pulled most of the events off without a hitch. The Senior Week committee is only open to juniors and its female members comprise the Laurel Chain at Commencement. It is a wonderful tradition that symbolizes the passing of the torch from one class to another.

Jennifer

Wonderful classes and great professors.

Connecticut College, a small liberal arts college, has many great aspects that places the school high on my list. Student Governance is not just a student council, but a shared governance with faculty, staff and admistrators on all school policies. It is one of the few ramaining schools that uses an honor code, establishing a personal trust between all members of the community. The study Abroad and Interships programs are excellent and are known to aid in funding for students. Financial Aid is awesome and provides great awards for those in need.

As far as majors go, from my personal experience, I would say that the environmental science program is very strong. The psychology and botany departments are excellent, and I know some very satisfied english and philosophy majors. We have a program at Conn which grants you money to do an internship after your junior year if you complete a few easy workshops over your first two years. The campus is beautiful, and the arboretum is lovely and a great resource for field work.
