Outside of extracurricular's, Coppin State University has a wonderful campus with proactive security at all times. But if you're an athlete I'd advise you to avoid Coppin State University at all costs. This school offers little to no help when it comes to conflict with coaches or teammates. You could report a coach the whole season and even report a coach in past years, and there will be no disciplinary actions taken AT ALL. All Coppin State University cares about is winning championships and boost ratings for the school. Mental health is not a priority for student-athletes, especially if you're an incoming freshmen. Yes, they are available but coaches and the athletic department don't make it adamant to seek professional help when things get tough. For me I've experienced many hardships that unfortunately I am still going through, because of the lack of help I received my freshman year. I reported my coach on multiple occasions for the verbal abuse, manipulation, and unfair treatment I received by her. Once I made these reports I was told that actions would be taken, but it seems like they will be keeping her for another season. I wanted to share my opinion and my story so that I can help someone before it's too late. Yes, the school itself is wonderful and if you're just going for academics it's a great school to be at. But if you're looking to also be an athlete I warn you to not go there, and if you're already there leave immediately.

We The EAGLES. I bleed Blue and Gold, and i'm proud to say it. With over 31 majors to choose from ,academics here is taken very serious, especially if you want to stay on campus or join a club. I love that because it keeps me grounded when it comes to my schoolwork. I joined a step team and without good grades, I wouldn't be allowed to step. On top of that, Coppin State is one of the safest campuses in Maryland overall and with a mall right across the street, i'm rarely bored. Now, even though people are all about academics, so am I. I like to have fun too. So the fact that there are parties every weekend from lit university to simple house parties, makes me happy. Coppin has a number of sports so when its a boring weekday or I have nothing to do on Saturday morning, there would be a basketball, football, or volleyball games which engender happiness to everyone, especially on the weekdays. So, overall I think the school is great even though the food can be a lot better. Its a cheap so school and I wouldn't change my school for nothing.

Coppin State University is a great school. It has some more work to do but overall it’s a great place to further your education. In my opinion I would like to have better choices of food in the cafe. I also think there should be a little bit more security because I have some night classes and I don’t really feel safe walking back to my room sometimes. The dorm rooms are pretty much ok but I would like for it to be cleaner. Also the laundry room needs some work. Firstly the washing machines are always dirty and secondly, it would be a big weight off of our shoulders if washing was free or included in our tuition so that way we wouldn’t have to worry about if we will have enough money to do laundry. Coppin is still a wonderful school but We would love to see some more changes around the campus.

My overall experience at Coppin State University is pretty good. I enjoy the campus, classes and professors. I feel like some of my classes are challenging and that is good for me because it is teaching me discipline. I also feel like Coppin is what you make it. You have to get out of the school what it is has to offer to your special needs. However, if you are looking for a small school where everyone knows everyone or at least about everyone than this may be the school for you. But, one thing to remember is that this college at the end of the day so you need to come prepared to learn and always present with your best self.
