Culver-Stockton College Top Questions

The worst thing about Culver-Stockton College would be the location. Culver is located in an extremely small town, which makes networking for the students harder than those who are located within a large city with many businesses. For internships and other job opportunities many students must look somewhere at least 20 miles away and can be a huge hassle for full time college students; however, Culver helps their students the best they can with networking and meeting new people outside of the town.

The tuition and room and board prices keep going up each year.

I don't think there is anything "bad" about Culver. Everything has its ups and downs, but overall, Culver is a great school!

I think the worst thing about the school is how some of the students act. It is amazing how some people can move into a completely new world after high school, and still be the most obnoxious human beings to anyone they meet, including faculty. I really do not like when people are disrespectful. Gossip, cliques, and all other drama are llittered all over our campus. I do not know how it compares to other schools, but it is hard to believe that such a small school like this one would have so much of it all.

The worst aspect of Culver-Stockton is that many of the students don't seem to care or even value their education and the process that they go through to get there. Sometimes, I feel that this is mirrored in the professors. Because the students don't oftentimes care, sometimes the professors don't challege and push students as hard or as far as they can go. I want to get the most out of my education.

This school is in a small town, so there are not many things to do off campus.

In some ways, the small size because everything becomes a lot more personal.

The worst thing about the school is that it's difficult to get academic help for commuters. The on-campus student body takes priority and often we don;t get recognized.

To walk around the school is tiresome because of the many hills found around the school. The weather patterns in the school is not stable either because the school is located near the mississipi river.

The worst thing about my school is the cost. I believe it is too high for the resources that you have here and the opportunities that are here.

There are times that I don't like the fact that the school is so small. Things spread very fast. There is not a great amount of school spirit like there is at other schools.

Location really hurts Culver. If we were located in a town with a higher population and more opprotunities for social outings and such i think students would be more satisfied with their time here.

The small town and the curriculm because the town is a dying town. We have a food store and 2 pizza places to eat. It just gives you the feeling of there is more out there and you know it, and you cannot wait to get out and experience a different life outside of Canton. The curriculm also because it feels like I, personally, am not learning everything to the fullest and this change has made my grades suffer. It is very rushed and pushy.

I consider the worst thing about my school is the cost. I come from a not so wealthy family and its really hard sometimes to come up with enough money each semester to come back. During the summer I'm usually working 3 jobs, so I can save enough money for the next school year. It would be a lot less stressful if I didn't have to worry about money all the time.

Funding for updates or additions to the campus is scarce. There is very little support from the state, since it is a private liberal arts college.

There isn't anything to do on the weekends. Something needs to be brought to campus or near campus to occupy students so they will stay on campus. Most students leave on the weekends and I think that should change.

No black fraternities. Not enough variety.
