I love Baruch. Most of the professors are wonderful, and the club life is 'happening' too. There is no Greek life, which is honestly a relief. I think that this school could benefit from better elevators, but you will probably find this a common complaint amongst the student body. Excellent food options nearby, Madison Square Park just a few blocks away.... Come join us; you'll love it here!

CUNY Bernard M. Baruch College is truly the ivy league school within CUNY and a jewel to those seeking to earn a reputable degree in business without succumbing to hefty debt. The courses you are offered will teach you a great deal of the current economic state and international relations, and eventually inspire you to venture or invest your efforts in the public sector or companies or organization aimed for the betterment of consumers and society as a whole. I fondly look back at my professors and continue to apply their teachings to this very day.

Good Accounting curriculum, but must study hard to pass. There is a policy for most of their accounting courses which only 15% of the class can get A's. Club events are great. You get to meet a lot of people and who knows, you find some new besties!

Great school for the value. However, the school is heavily focused on business-related fields (finance, accounting, marketing, etc). Extracurricular activities are abundant. There are some hidden gems in terms of professors here. Everyone here is willing to help if you ask for it. Overall great culture.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Very good school for business/accounting majors, with a wealth of job/internship opportunities available through the Career Center. Also a decent and underrated school for particular liberal arts majors (these are, in my opinion, Psychology, English, Journalism, Biological Sciences, and Philosophy). These majors feature very esteemed faculty/professors, and great opportunities for employment and academic ascension. It really isn't a school for people who desire to major in the fine arts, unless you want to get into the business/administrative side of it. There is very little artistic culture, and as someone who writes, creates music, and is a photographer, I wish I had learned of this before enrolling. There are art clubs, groups, and even an Art Committee in the Student Government, so there are people who love art and collaboration at Baruch. If you get involved in the many clubs and Greek societies, you will make friends and go out to bars/clubs if you desire. There's a lot to do with a lot people - it just takes some looking. People are generally chill and like to get their work done before going out. Don't be afraid to ask someone a question, no one will bite for the most part. Since it is a commuter school and quite competitive in nature, most people go straight home or to work after school if there aren't any plans, which can be off-putting to some. There is no on-campus housing and the off-campus housing made available by Baruch is expensive and from what I have heard, strict and inadequate in many aspects. You're better off renting an apartment/room. There is no food hall, but there are a wealth of authentic NYC eateries, cool hole-in-the-wall establishments, and chains for those who don't desire to venture out. I personally like Little Basil (Thai restaurant), Sophie's Cuban Cuisine, Pret A Manger, and Snowfox (Japanese restaurant). There's a nice cafe inside the campus and a Starbucks across the street. There's also many vending machines in the campus that sell snacks and packaged meals, but it's not worth your money. Facilties are nice, but hit or miss. WiFi is, hilariously enough, spotty or nonexistent during midterm week/finals week. Printers and scanners are typically of good quality. Classrooms are kept nice and tidy. Bathrooms and water fountains are also nice. Staff is also hit or miss. I am grateful enough to have a great support system of staff who I am close with, but this is due to my networking and joining clubs/societies/programs. This is clearly key to succeeding at Baruch other than having great grades. Some staff are kind while others (financial aid, anyone?) can be rude and aloof. Overall, it is not a traditional University and you must be able to network, make new friends/connections, use all available resources, get great grades, and work hard to succeed. It can be daunting at times. It is not for people who want a traditional University atmosphere or a relaxed environment, nor those who want to major in the fine arts.

Great place for business, finance and accounting majors. Professors are extremely talented and demand excellence from students. You can expect to be challenged and their are several different resources that are available to every student, like an entrepreneurship center to help with your business ideas and a market linked trading floor.

Overall CUNY Bernard M Baruch College is a good school because there are several challenging courses you can take. Also, there are professors who are willing to help you understand the material they cover in class. I also believe that this school teaches you how to be independent.

It is a bang for your buck. Students are very career-oriented. Most professors care about you and will give you advice to succeed in the professional world. It is a commuter school. Drinking will happen off-campus. The library building is very nice.

A good school, however, not much campus life and the extracurricular activities that come with it. Surrounding area is nice and the school is a clean and safe place. Professors are very knowledgeable about their respective subjects, and most will take the time to help students out.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Baruch College is an amazing college. The professors here encourage hard work and success. Along with the security here at Baruch, it is a very safe college to go to. In fact, the only way to enter the school is by swiping your student identification card for proof of the student.
