Is an incredible school that assists students to complete a degree easily from the comfort of their home. They are very flexible with students' hours. There are 25 + clubs that provide the opportunity to get involved and get a sense of community. It also provides the opportunity for students to gain skills in Lead positions while running these clubs or organizations. Advisors, Faculty and Staff are very helpful, involved, and dedicated to seeing their students succeed.

CUNY School of Professional Studies is a diploma mill. I wish I knew this before applying. The vast majority (75-80{6f65e1278338a62264eed73e2adc5af8e2841420db12ceb4f80b8db22f3260ec}) of students in my classes write in broken English without proper grammar or punctuation, use run-on sentences that seem to be pulled from random web sites, and most importantly - they do not even remotely grasp the material. I base this on the utterly incoherent train of thought they present when asked simple questions like "Why would people prefer kindness to intelligence when choosing a mate?" Their answers make no sense and they will often just repeat the question back at you in various forms, in order to meet the word count. Since most of the work in class requires me to read their responses on discussion boards, it is becoming increasingly demoralizing to continue on with my studies. Most students I have seen here will be granted a MASTER'S degree for work that does not even meet 8th grade writing and reading comprehension standards. Pathetic.

Classes are online and most people are nice. Financial aid could help students out more and give more information but the classes are fine. The students all talk to each other and ask for help via online platform or social media. The only real problem is financial aid for low income families but that is with every college in my opinion, it just makes things harder for us.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Having entered college a full 24 years after my high school graduation and receiving my BS 30 years after receiving my high school diploma, I have the advantage of 20/10 hindsight. Though I have no regrets for the path of autodidactic learning in which I engaged during that period, I believe that if I could travel back in time, I would have counseled myself to enter college closer to my graduation from high school. If I had done so, I would have reaped the benefit of focusing my career aims at an earlier age. Having said this, however, I believe that there is a benefit to my having waited. As an older man, I had the advantage of being able to far more clearly deliniate my path. This has proven a great advantage to me, and has pushed me to the highest academic standards, and surpassing my wildest dreams of achievement, when in 2011, I graduated from the CUNY Baccalaureate for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies Summa cum Laude.

I attended the CUNY Baccalaureate for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies, an interdisciplinary program in which the student creates her/his own curriculum and is mentored by a senior college faculty member. The program was unique in that it provided the broad scope of 19 senior colleges from which the student could choose her/his courses. This tremendous breadth of academic institutions supported a great variety of integrated studies.

  5. What's unique about your campus?

The Integrated Digital Media program, to which I have been accepted at NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering, a versatile program that integrates the diverse disciplines associated with digital media, will allow me to learn in depth the realm of integrated web application and design with a holistic approach. Key to my upcoming work in the program will be the ability to receive placement assistance into critically needed internships in the industry. The School of Engineering is ideally positioned to provide this assistance, and to me, this is the most valuable asset the school provides for me.
