Hunter College is a great school for its price. The school is located in a great neighborhood and there are plenty of options of transportation and eateries available. It is not your average campus, but the school offers many resources that has shaped me into the individual I am today. Although Hunter College is a great option for those hoping to stay locally and minimize loans, the school is very large in terms of the class body. Due to the large class sizes, there aren't enough student to faculty/professor interactions. The only time most students can have a one-on-one with professors are during their office hours. Unfortunately, most working students don't have the same chance to meet with professors during office hours due to work obligations.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Hunter College is a great school that offers a wide range of coursework as well as the support you need not only to successfully navigate your undergraduate career, but also to set you up to succeed in the future. Hunter College provides support through its staff and its services. Specifically, Hunter College has advisors that can assist with general questions and guide you along your academic path, and also department-specific advisors that can assist you with inquiries regarding your major or minor. Hunter College's services include its vast libraries and online databases, that you can utilize as a current student or as an alum, free of charge. There is also a Career Development Services center that can assist you with writing a professional resume, practicing for interviews, and obtaining a job or internship. Furthermore, the coursework is top notch and will both challenge you and allow you to grow as a student in your selected field. Overall, Hunter College is a great school that will support you in mastering your coursework and set you up to succeed once you graduate.

Hunter is a college that provides many opportunities for it's students. Surrounding Hunter is a wide array of shops, such as Sephora, Bamboo Sushi, and Chatime. If you do happen to come by Bamboo Sushi or any of the other Japanese restaurants, you have to try out the shrimp tempuras and of course the sushi. There's even Central Park and St. Patrick's Cathedral nearby Hunter. Because of public transportation, you can go sightseeing at multiple museums and try various cuisines throughout Manhattan. While the college campus may not be as full of nature as CCNY's campus, Hunter's campus IS the City. The faculty is helpful and so are most professors. People are very friendly here, but conversations are ephemeral. Hunter has a large population, so the escalators can get congested. The education provided is very good for a city college. The facilities are good and the place isn't too difficult to navigate through after a few days of attending the college.

Hunter College is placed in the heart of New York City. Walking off the 6 train you feel the energy and commotion in the air. Walking inside hunter college you are invited with Starbucks and a common space to join friends. Hunter is a busy and crowded space but everyone has their own place. I have always found a place to just relax, to work, or collaborate with classmates. Ive been in hunter for one semester but they have helped me grow into a stronger more determined student. My professors and advisors were always friendly and sent me on the right track. They have an amazing nursing program that i hope to get into soon. The environment and student body are always diverse and on the move. We all have New York City in us and keep that pace going. Hunter has made me feel welcomed and accomplished. Im proud to be a hunter college and pursue a college career there. I know that in the future i will meet more people to help me along the way and build connections. Being in manhattan is a great advantage for that. When things become too much you can just take a stroll down to Central park and unwind. Things can get stressful, but don't worry there is always someone available. Hunter College will turn into your second home.

Hunter College is a great place to study film. The professors are eager to share their knowledge to anyone who wants it. I have grown as a filmmaker in such incredible ways due to their efforts. The experience of analyzing and deconstructing films with the professors were truly eye-opening. For film, Hunter is less production oriented than other schools. Once a few production classes are completed, the rest of them cover film analysis. For me, this is exactly what I desired in a film school. Since I am interested in writing and directing, the actual mechanics of filmmaking are less important to me. What is important, is the way I am now able to study a certain film and understand what the writer or director wanted to accomplish artistically. The college itself is a little run down. This may be due to the newer buildings being intertwined with the older ones. On any given day, one can visit all of the buildings. This can remind one of how old some of the halls actually are. For example, the walls of the newer buildings seem bright and clean. The walls of the other buildings can look cracked and shabby. The only real complaints I have are the shapes of the bathrooms. They are pathetic. Some of the stalls are barely held together, and the walls are ancient. The sense of privacy is almost non-existent. The security at Hunter is great. At every door there are security guards ready to protect and serve. They are always alert and ready to card anyone who seems out of place. It would be very difficult to enter the buildings without being noticed. The food at Hunter is varied for any type of student, be it a vegetarian, sushi lover, or fried food addict. There are many types of sushi always available, and the sandwiches are always fresh. Whether you’re a health nut or a junk food junky, there are plenty of options for everyone. The students are wonderful. Hunter College has some of the most diverse cultures gathered together in all of New York City. Every class one takes has the benefit of learning about other countries and cultures. Their viewpoints allow for a more complete education in all areas. I personally have benefited by hearing the viewpoints of foreign students on American films. This has allowed me to be able to think of how others may view my upcoming films. The impression of Hunter College that I’d like the public to walk away with is that this college is a little old and a lot diverse. The food is plentiful, and the bathrooms are lacking.

I am currently a Freshman at Hunter College and I've really been enjoying it so far. I just finished my first semester, and I've already learned so much. Hunter College is a great school; it is not a 'party school' thus it helps students focus on their education. I personally like the fact that Hunter is composed of professors who are available and willing to answer any questions and their facilities are great as well.
