Cypress College is a very safe quite school. The students who attend Cypress College are very friendly. The Science Engineering Mathematics building is a little old but I heard news about remodeling. Their is next to none in traffic beside at 5 O'clock on Valley View but with 2 other streets to exit from campus it is easily avoidable.

I like that it is a small campus and the class are not that big. The general ed courses are pretty easy, but it gets tougher once you start taking courses for your major in order to transfer. Parking is only hectic the first couple weeks of school so arrive a good 20 minutes before your class starts to make sure you find a parking spot.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Cypress College is a greate school. It's a very diverse campus with a range of programs and teachers who are very passionate about what they teach. The student services offerd on campus are also expansive and well maintained; the library and online databases are available 5 days a week as well as the student activities center where students can relax and be at ease from the stresses of their workloads. Overall, I can see why Cypress College is so well received by the state.

The college is not that big so you don't feel like you have to walk miles to get to classes. The teacher's that I have had this semester were really nice and very willing to help. The students here are also nice, very helpful if you ask them a question. The program i am in has really helped me connect to more people and improve my schooling by going to workshops and conferences to network. I feel comfortable to come to school, the campus doesnt stress you out.

What kind of person should not attend this school?

If you are looking to get in and out of community college immediately, cypress is not the best school for you. Lots of students have issues getting the classes they need, and as a result, are required to stay longer than two years.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would tell myself to go to a 4-year university and avoid going to a community college.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

I would have to say the worst thing at my school would ha e to be the limited availability of classes.

What kind of person should not attend this school?

Anybody who is fast paced and wants to jet through college should not go here because classes are very limited and impacted. Your luck to have a full load of courses with decent professors is very difficult.

Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.

My school is a small, diverse place to be with great professors and hard working students.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would say that I did a very good job and to keep working hard with the 3.88 GPA.

What's unique about your campus?

I believe the best thing about my school is how caring the teachers are. They are always willing to cooperate and make your life easier if you are a kind and hard working student. I have never had an issue that a professor has been unable to handle.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Change is hard. Plain and simple it's painful. But beauty can still come from pain. I would rather choose to live life as an adventure and treasure every moment I do have than fear the moments that change will bring. Change truly is a part of life. Look at the seasons. As fall turns into winter, snow storms arise and life is gray. But as the frostiness of winter melts away into the freshness of spring, life is made new and hope arises. Often our lives can look like winter in the midst of change. It's all bleak and cold with no warmth on the horizon. But if we are willing to embrace change, and trust that spring will come, we will be able to see the flowers and new growth under the patches of snow. Change doesn't mean giving up your past. It doesn't mean loosing the old. Change means learning to grow, learning to embrace your ambitions, and not being afraid of going after your dreams. If you can see the beauty in change, then you can find the courage to turn passionate ambition into reality.

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

There is nothing I wish I had known. I knew what a community college was and I knew what to expect.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

I think Cypress is an excellent community college. I have nothing to complain about.

Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

There are smaller class sizes at Cypress College meaning more availability to see instructors and connect with them. The tuition at Cypress College is cheaper and there is more free time for college students since the system at Cypress College is a semester system.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Well, what makes up the college life? College is not about what school you end up going to or what grades you got. It is about the experiences that you make from it. It does not matter what school you end up attending for college as long as it satisfies you. You are no longer going to get an education for your parents because now the reason is for yourself. The college experience consists of exploring oneself and learning about oneself. It is like taking a journey to explore and learn more about you as you dive yourself into windows of opportunities. Don't be afraid to go out of your comfort zone and into different areas of interests since that is what college is all about. Now, go and enjoy your college life!

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

The college tuition is cheaper at Cypress College compared to other colleges such as universites and private schools.
