A typical student who would be interested in dalton state is smart, budget oriented, and wants to complete his/her first two years of college at home. Most students transfer to UGA or Ga tech from dalton state. The other schools recognize dalton state as great school for the foundation of a students undergraduate degree.
If you are looking for a place to get a jump-start in school or figure out what you would like to do with your life, Dalton State is definitely a great choice. They have low tuition rates, lots of scholarships and wonderful academics. Because it has great accredidation, it looks like most of my classes shall transfer over to wherever God has next for me easily!
One's ethnicity does not need to affect whether s/he applies to DSC. Also, there is no greek life to distract from one's studies, and the campus is now tobacco free. This is not a party school at all. There is a mall and many places to eat and other shops located close to campus as well as a few parks. This college is perfect for someone who doesn't want to attend a 2-year school or huge university. Based on my personal experiences everyone finds a niche and has a large circle of friends at DSC.
A person who wants a college education, but doesn't want to spend an enormous amount of money.
