It’s a great local college. It’s a more Economic choice with the tutiton being far less than any state university in the area. The professors are usually very nice and try to help you succeed. There are always plenty of events going on be it the theatre, art clubs, or athletics.

Hector

It is a wonderful place, filled with nice, caring teachers and students. It has air conditioner for the hot times and heat for when it gets cold. Dacc offers a lot of scholarships and it's a community college, so it's cheaper than big named colleges, and I would say it's more fun than said big name colleges.

Alex

It's affordable, close-knit classes but you have to walk or drive sometimes, but you really have to be on top of everything from checking your email to making sure you check up on your guidance counselor every now and then. DACC is very diverse and offers a good Nursing Program

Kari

Danville Area Community College is a great value for the quality of learning available there. Professors make themselves very accessible after class as well as during office hours. There are also a lot of services for students with disabilities, low income, veterans, etc. The classes are small and the tuition is affordable. I highly recommend this college.

Danville Area Community College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Danville Area Community College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Danville Area Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would tell myself to study harder, and to think seriously about my future. Most high school students, myself included do not realize the impact that their education and daily choices has on the rest of their lives. If I had known them what I know now, I would have went to college when I was young and single, instead of doing when I am 28, divorsed, and have 2 children. It is hard at such a young age to think of your life in 10 or 20 years. I would tell myself that to get anywhere in life you have to have an education, and that by not going to college, and taking my education more seriously when I was younger, I was hurting my future children. I would tell myself that if you want your children to realize that hard work is the only way to make it in this world, then you have to work hard yourself. If you want your children to know that women can support themselves, then you have to show them by example. If I could go back in time I would make different, better choices.

  4. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

I love to brag about my school. When people ask me why I choose to go to a community college, I always say that it had everything to do with the size and staff. I did not think that I could handle a big major university. I had started to meet the staff and I saw how much they wanted to help. The teachers are there to help you. Danville Area Community College also helps students transition to a bigger university, especially if students come from a small high school like I did.

  11. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish I had realized the importance of going to lectures and how different a college learning environment is when compared to a high school one. I also wish that I had known that I likely should have tried to combat some of my health related issues before attempting to go to college. Had I known these things, I very likely could have graduated by now and been in a much happier and healthier situation. But I realize that these wishes cannot come true, and I must make the best of my future, whatever it may bring.
