This is more of a personal issue than Davidson-specific...it really depends on the relationship you have with home. Some people only phone home once a week. I call my mom once a day, and I think that's perfect for me personally. Establish a norm with your parents-give them at least one specific day (like a Sunday) where you will call them. But don't be afraid to call home when you have a problem. Sometimes your family/people outside of the school scene are the best people to talk to because they aren't partial to certain parts of the school. So, in short, it depends, but once a day is not too much.
