One of the stereotypes is that Davidson is very southern, preppy, from rich white families.

There is a stereotype that all we do is study in the library. Although that definitely applies to some Davidson students, I think most students have quite balanced social and acadmic lives.

We are all very smart and hard-working.

I feel like Davidson kids are stereotyped as being rich, white, boarding school kids. There are definitely those kids here, but I don't necessarily think that they control the entire student population. We also have a reputation for having hard academics and no social scene. While the classes are hard, and learning to manage your time is a must, it's nothing that can't be handled. And because of the difficult classes, people are always looking to let loose and have some fun on the weekends. I feel like we have a great social scene here.

Work hard, play hard

That we are geeky and we work too hard.

Everyone knows everyone. We work ridiculously hard, but we play harder. Your best hasn't been good enough since 18something or other.

Where I come from, the most common stereotype about Davidson students is that they are smart and nerdy.

We're all nerds who never leave the library and don't know how to drink.

Davidson students are rich and preppy. When I was in high school I knew a girl who came to look at Davidson and decided not to come here because she thought all the girls were too pretty and that they wouldn't be nice. Everyone at Davidson is really brainy and the social scene is lame.

Athletic, preppy students, serious and hard-working, stressed out with a lot of work, want to make a difference, are very committed to a lot of organizations and sometimes find it hard to manage time, interested in politics, being vocal about issues, work hard and play hard, lots of spirit.

Davidson tends to be overlooked because of it's small size of 1700 students. It gets the rep for being really hard, too much work. People think the majority of campus is Type A and not very diverse. They do your laundry. People also don't know where it is, so often one must say " I go to Davidson, a small liberal arts college north of Charlotte, NC."

We study a lot. We also love life, though!

At first glance, Davidson looks quite preppy. Also, some people think Davidson students work so hard that there isn't time for fun.

Otherwise I guess the biggest stereotype is that we all wear boat shoes, popped collars and carry Vineyard Vines bags.

Before I came to Davidson I heard two things about Davidson students 1) They work hard (maybe too hard) 2) they are the rich white children of the doctors and lawyers of the South.

Davidson is viewed as a pretentious, private, and primarily white school. Davidson has an excellent reputation for bestowing an incredible liberal arts education upon its students.

We enjoy being extremely busy and have nerdy interests
