The first few weeks -> month are hard, because not only are you independent for the first time (mom and dad aren't there to cook/clean for you anymore!), you also don't know anyone . BUT YOU WILL MAKE FRIENDS. I promise you! Everyone feels lonely at the beginning of college, it's natural. But once you adjust to being independent and meet a few people, you'll love it! Also, getting used to the college work load is tough at first. High school is pretty easy compared to college work!
The hardest thing about freshman year is learning how to balance your time between schoolwork and having fun. You need to go out and experience the city of Chicago, but you also need to keep up with schoolwork because 10 weeks flies by! Finding the balance between those two is essential in having a great experience at DePaul.
