I came here because they offered excellent out of the classroom opportunities to learn. For example, we have a winter term where we take the month of January to find an internship, design an independent study, or study on or off campus in one of our faculty led courses. And the best thing is that during this term we do not get a grade, just satisfactory or not, which takes the pressure off and you can really enjoy learning and doing the material that you are being taught. And I also came to DePauw because it offers a liberal arts education which allowed me to take a variety of classes in lots of different departments allowing me to become a more well rounded student and enjoy other subjects outside my major that I am interest in.
I chose DePauw because I knew that I wanted a small liberal arts school, and I wanted to be in the midwest. When I visited campus for the first time, my tour guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and I remember thinking that the campus was absolutely beautiful. I had the feeling that day that I could fit in at DePauw and be happy. DePauw is prominently known for its academics, but also has a reputation as being a socially fun school, and that combination was exactly what I was looking for.
