What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?

Matthew

There are not stereotypes at DeSales. It's as close to a family as it can be so there is very little stereotyping happening. However there are a few bad apples every once and while but by a semester they normally transfer when they don't fit the mold of a DeSales student

It's a famous school for Greek life. Students party a lot every week, and also study a lot during the day.

DePauw University students are unfortunately stamped with an inaccurate stereotype as fraternity and sorority members with our noses in the air. The common perception of the student body is that mommy and daddy pay for all of us to come to this wonderful educational institution, only to have us waste our time and our parents' hard earned money on partying. Greek women are generally viewed as "daddy's little rich girls" who put far too much emphasis on brand names, while Greek men have been accused of being close-minded womanizers. Although the vast majority of campus is involved in Greek life, those that are not are also stereotyped. For instance, the foreign exchange students are often talked about as if all they do is smoke cigarettes and sit in the library.
