I do tell people that DVC is one of the best community colleges around the east bay and offers various courses but that is about it.
The thing I love most about my school narrows down to three things: the quality education I receive, the diverse student body, and the cost. If I had to pick one, it would be the cost. While most kids went off to straight to four year universities straight out of highschool, I went to community college. I get to receive the same education they receive and about 4% of the cost of most friends. While they are stacking up debt, I was learning from great teachers down the street from my house. Either way you put it, I'm blessed.
When I'm telling someone about the Diablo Valley College its usually positive things. With the exception of the long waits in the all the lines your have to stand in during the enrollment process. Those I could definitely do without!
I normally brag about my GPA which is about a 3.981 and about my extensive extracurricular activities which range from Cross Country to Officer Positions of two clubs on campus, those two clubs being Toastmasters International and Alpha Gamma Sigma Honors Society.
The list is endless: small houses rather than dorms, politically active students, an Oxford study abroad program, an equestrian team, one of the oldest schools in the United States, elegant architecture, Frederick Douglass once stayed the night at Hillsdale College, accomplished and respected faculty, once-in-a-lifetime guest speakers. . .
How easy going most of the teachers are. The majority of the teachers are there for the students and will help students out and my grades.
I brag about the variety of degrees that are offered such as an A.A. in psychology.
