What's your overall opinion of Dillard University?

Jolene - 07/07/2023

Dillard University is an excellent small college, in my opinion. There is a family atmosphere and the locals are welcoming. Even though there are some drawbacks, including poor food and housing issues, academics and mental health services make up for it. Overall, Dillard is excellent if you're searching for a small, laid-back HBCU.

Mikayeia - 05/20/2022

As a first year freshman attending a HBCU, I can say it's definitely one for the book. The students and staff members are very welcoming and concerning. I came on campus not knowing anyone, now I know everyone. I love the basketball games located in dent, the student body really gives support. Although there are several perks of Dillard, one con is the student health center. The receptionist is quite rude but overall the health care is amazing. There are several groups you can join to get you involved as well as greek life.

MiChe'la

I like Dillard university. It's small, has a beautiful campus, and is close to many outlets. The school has a lot to offer. There are a variety of organizations on campus and the student union comes equipped with a game room, bowling alley, and much more. The staff and students are very helpful as well.

Dillard is more than just a school,it is a family. Everyone wants to see you succeed and are ready to do whatever it takes to for you to make your dreams come true. Dillard has the type of environment in which you are more than a number in the classroom; your teachers get to know you on a personal level. Dillard University has a nice size campus,it is small enough to where you are familiar with everyone but it is also large enough that you are not on top of each other all of the time. Dillard University is the perfect place for people who are family oriented and like that type of support.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could go back in time and talk to myself about college as a high school senior what I would tell myself is to achieve all that I want out of life. Go to college to get a better education so that I can support my family and be a good role model for my future children. No one in my family considered going to college so why don't I start the trend and maybe I can be a role model for my little brother so that maybe he will want to go to college and achieve what he wants to be. I want to start my own security business and in order to do that I need a college education because a high school diploma is not going to take me far in life. So why not start right after high school and be the best that I can be.
