Small classes and good support staff but definitely lacks social life.

The faculty at Dominican University is one of its best assets. The staff really cares about the student’s success in academics, but also once they graduate. The classes are very small (about 15-20 people), so you get the opportunity to connect with your professors on a personal level. The professors make themselves available to help the students about 5-8 hours a week. If they are unavailable to meet with the students, there is a drop-in tutoring service that is free to students.

The class sizes are very small, making the teaching environment very intiment. Furthermore, the teachers get to know their students very well, and many of them are on a first name basis with the people they instruct. All of this greatly aids both teachers and students alike, because teachers can accurately tailor their lessons to the specific needs of the class and students will not have a difficult time getting help from their professors.

Dominican's curriculum is very well integrated. I find that the concepts and ideas I'm learning in one class are reinforced by the material and discussions in another. This is true even with courses as seemingly disconnected as environmental science and intercultural communications. The environmental science professor relates the science to its impact on world populations and that causes me to think critically about how communication affects the type of industries and pollution controls that are implemented in various regions of the world. Cultivation of critical thinking skills is Dominican's emphasis.

The best thing about this school is that it is a diverse community. This allows the students to feel more welcome.

I can enter into the nursing program immediately following my prerequisites as long as I earned a 3.0 GPA I would automatically enter into the clinical portion of my degree.

The best thing about my school I would say is the nursing program. They challenge students to do their best and make sure students are on top of their work.

The best thing about my school is the small class sizes. it gives each student an equal opprotunity to have a one on one conversation with each teacher. Not only does the school provide small class sizes you have a better opprotunity to meet new people because it is small.

The best thing about my school would have to be the small class sizes and the interactive teachers.
