The worst thing about the school and surrounding area is a lack of snow this year, which I was looking forward to.
My advisor seemed to not think outside the lines
The worst thing about EOU is the fact that the town is so small. On the weekends, there is nothing to do, unless you go to a party, and that is usually where a lot of underage drinking happens. I believe that EOU needs to provide more activities for students to do over the weekends to keep them out of trouble.
Lame parties, hicks and too much country music.
The worest part of EOU would be the lack of help. Between the different offices (admissions, fin aid, and ect...) no one is ever willing to help. I have called many times trying to get a hold of someone to help me with my loans because it is a confusing process that a student needs guidence on but no one has ever taken the time to call back or have a meeting with me. At EOU you have to do a lot of the paperwork on yuor own.
There is nothing about Eastern Oregon University that could be considered negative. They provide a quality program at a reasonable cost.
The worst thing about Eastern I think is that you really have to be creative to have fun around here. You need to be sure to be on top of the college announcements, they have comedians, musicians, art shows, theatre productions, movies, events, blood drives! Get in there and mark the dates on your calendar.
I attend all classes 100% online and have never actually been to the campus. The only negative experiences I've had is with some professors not being fully engaged in their online classes.
This is really hard actually. If I had to choose something, I suppose it would be that my school has recently gone through some really hard times financially. Because of that, several things at the school have either been cut, like baseball, or receive less funds. Our previous president, Dixie Lund, did so much to help the school get back on its feet, but it will be several years before my school is the shining gem it once was.
I am an online student, so I don't get the verbal interaction I would like.
Nothing
Sometimes it can be too small and not alot of social events. I wish there was more financial stock classes available and the buildings are becomming out of date and should be updated. Our school is finacially challenged which hurts our sporting events and social events.
The place on campus to buy food, way overpriced and not that good of food
The gym is very importaint to me, and at this school our gym is very old. There is very second rate equipment wich frequently is out of order for months at a time. I also become very frustrated with the school for having irrelivant resonning behind clossing the wieght room on short and somtimes even no notice. Such a low level of importance placed on the exercize facility is to me, the leading cause in this communitys health problems.
