Eastern was a good school, and I generally enjoyed my time there. It is too expensive for what you get as a student. However, the professors are incredibly caring and the academics were outstanding. The campus is gorgeous and I loved the people I met. I genuinely feel like I got a good education, even though I'll be paying for it until I'm 90.
Eastern University's stated aims are "faith, reason, and justice:" they want their students to be religiously (or, if irreligious, ethically) centered, to think well, and to act for justice. For this reason, as Christian colleges go, Eastern has a reputation as something of a 'social justice school,' which from my experience is pretty warranted as far as the overall student and faculty culture, though not so much with regard to school administration. As a fairly small school with small class sizes, students in every major are typically quite close to their professors; sports are a big deal.
Eastern university is a Christian school and I live that they imbibe an holistic approach in our learning process. As a Nursing student, they teach us to care for each patient we encounter in a therapeutic way, I love every experience am getting from the nursing department so far. Coming here would be a good decision.
My first days at Eastern were exactly what I had expected. It is a Christian University and most of the people I have encountered during my first year are believers in Christ. However, I knew there would be some students who were not and I was okay with that. I simply wanted to get a good education and be surrounded by people who have the same beliefs as me. Further, Eastern is more beautiful than I had expected it to be. Everywhere you go, you are surrounded by lakes, trees, flowers, and nature; it is mesmerizing. Also, I like that Eastern is a small school. You get to form close relationships with your teachers and I found that I learn much better in a small-classroom atmosphere. My first year at Eastern was absolutely incredible and I cannot wait to come back for my sophomore year!
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Eastern University is 61%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
Please let God guide in the prcess . It helps out so much more .
Eastern University is a small school. The people are amazing and kind. When I met the admissions counselors, they treated me like they wanted me here. Other schools treated me like a number and they just wanted me here for my money. I feel welcomed here and people accept me for who I am. The professors care about you and your education. I am learning so much about everything. My mind is being challenged and my faith is getting stronger in the process. The school also is so gorgeous. The buildings are unique and the land is beautiful.
I wish I had known how accessible Eastern University was to Philadelphia (a 30 minute train ride or 40 minute drive), and the breadth of cultural events that I could be a part of in the city. I did not take advantage of the ease of accessibility to Philadelphia until my junior year, and I wished I had trekked into the city more when I was a freshman and sophomore.
It's a toss up between dealing with the financial aid office and lack of meal plan options. Eastern did all of the major stuff pretty well, but some of those smaller details were annoying every once in a while.
very open minded- good in discussion
Someone who enjoys big classes where they are referred to by a number. Someone who doesn't like individual attention. Someone who likes to party and drink and go crazy. Someone not that imnterested in getting a really good education, rather they like partying and having a good time.
The most frustrating thing about Eastern University is the financial aid system/building. The financial aid building has 6 or 7 different departments in that one building and that can be very confusing to someone because when your in a program such as myself you there are only a few advisors that can answer your questions.
My school is very old fasion and traditional .
A person who is open to learning and ready for new, challenging experiences.
The best thing is the amazing professors who we have as resources. In college we learn who we are and we are constantly changing and asking questions. At Eastern they encourage that and the professors are great resources for us to discuss things with, and though they do not tell you the answer usually they help you work through your thoughts. Plus most professors are very wise, genuine people who care about their students.
Its Christian foundation. There is also a fantastic adult learning program in many areas.
I brag that my school is a very open minded school. We are probably one of the most open christian schools. We are open to diversity in race, sexual orientation, socio-economical background, and religious afiliation.
Admittedly the class selection nothing spectacular, certainly on par with the average, but nothing beyond that. What makes Eastern really stand out to me is laid back attitude of most of the teachers, they really seem to teach because they love teaching. Not because they realized too late that there was nothing else they could do with their degree.
Maybe it is just because that is where I spend most of my time, but the theater scene on campus seems to be one of the largest and most eclectic groups.
Eastern is small and intimate. I have always gotten plenty of attention in each of my classes. Even in lecture classes, there is a good chance the professor will know you by name.
While it is true that eastern is home to a good deal of both of those, it is also home to a great deal of liberal, free thinkers, both in the faculty and the student body.

All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA. Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
100% of students attending Eastern University receive some sort of financial aid. 43% were awarded federal grants. While 75% received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
