My college is very outdoors oriented. Located on the water we have an incredible waterfront program where you can rent paddleboards, kayaks, canoes, learn how to sail, wake board, ect. We have a lot of sports too. Club sports are fun. A lot of classes, especially Marine Biology classes, go out onto the bay to collect samples and do labs. It's a very friendly environment too. I've always felt welcome and made so many friends that I know will be around for a long time.

This school wasn't the right pick for me, but that doesn't meant that you will hate it. I know reading negative comments can seem overwhelming but, honestly, you have to go to the school and make the choice yourself.

As I've said it is so hard to explain Eckerd, and I know I have not given it its fair share of praise. I for one do not regret my decision to go to Eckerd even the slightest bit, and I know a lot of people that feel the same. At Eckerd you become part of the family, whether you're into sports, going to the gym, hanging out with friends, getting drunk, or smoking pot. Everyone is accepted.

Eckerd College all in its self is unique. The campus is a little peninsula. There is a beach, lakes, tons of native birds, and lots of green. The campus is small but the people make up for it. All you need to do is say, "Hi," and someone will say, "Hey," back without hesitation just passing or not. and with Eckerd being suck a small school you can really get to know your professors and they are more than willing to help you all through your journey at Eckerd.

So many things -- a pet dorm, yellow bikes to ride around campus at will, sunshine, surrounded by water on 3 sides, cool profs, great people -- I love it all and learn more new things to love every day.

Eckerd College praises academic learning and experiential learning. There are mentors to help guide you through your years at the college. They They are able to help with academics but also with life. There are numerous opportunities for studying abroad. Many students study abroad more than once.

The small class sizes are great! It makes it very personal and easy to ask your professors questions. Even better, they want to help and answer those questions. If you are confused on what to do with your life the faculty is there to help you figure it out. Being in a state with only two seasons isn't too bad either!
