This was my first semester attending ECC, but, I am in love with my school. This school is so amazing and has a resource for anything you can possibly think of. This school is all about the students succeeding and accomplishing their goals. There is something for everyone in regards to anything you could possibly need in order to get through. Ev erything from student reps, to mental health to counseling and tutoring. This school has such a heart for its students and a genuine love for them and the community they serve. I feel a part of this family and have been embraced with open arms.

I absolutely love El Camino’s curriculum. The teachers are extremely helpful, encouraging and most importantly easy to access. I am personally not a big fan of the students and it is only because I believe some students have egos and believe they are entitled and better than most. I have loved my honors classes because of the students, but my general classes were filled with students who weren’t civilized enough to sit in a classroom and not be on their phone. I am worried about my own education, but it is a distraction when I see and hear phones going off in a classroom (post-coronavirus). And even though all classes are now virtual the teachers still put in the same effort and care into their students.

  5. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

There seem to be a lot of things operating at the management level that do not make much sense. For example, new buildings are erected and flashy advertisements are made at the same time that vital programs are elliminated. The campus is constantly under renovation and most of the renovations seem counter-productive. After a month of relaying asphalt, the construction crews return only to undo their previous work and spend the next month working on landscape, which they then dig up and cover with asphalt once more. If I were an administrator, I would focus more on eductation.

I think this is a college that any student can attend whether you know what you want to major in or are undecided. Just like any other college, the kind of person who shouldn't attent this school is the same kind of person who isn't ready for college in general nor ready to take their future seriously.

  9. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

Well there wasn't much for me to know, I am only at El Camino for Sign Language Classes. My 4-year school is the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, an acting school in Hollywood. Because tuition is $33,000 and I didn't have the money for my second year, I decided to start on becoming an interpreter. But coming to El Camino is wonderful, I love the teacher and the diversity in my class. People range from ages 16 to the 50's! It is a very different outlook on school.

  14. What is your overall opinion of this school?

I think the school is great, gives most of the student's needs. They also have good professors, although they are different in their styles of teaching, they are good ones. The school has a wide area so new students can get lost, but will soon find their way out. I enjoy their foods, taken from either the slot machines or from the canteen. They have a variety of races, and students can get to know each of these races. There are young and old people, sometimes, weird ones whom we don't know if they are even students there. Because they seem to be "out of themselves," we just let them pass by. The staff are great and good helpers.
