As it is very difficult to get around Daytona without a car, you can expect that if you are leaving campus, you could be traveling several miles away from the campus, so expect to see many different things. The nearest main road to the campus is a long strip of businesses, stores, chain restaurants, as well as the Daytona Speedway. Traveling a little further to the east will take you to the beach, with a boardwalk-like atmosphere with many tourist stores. The north and south of campus have more residential areas. Generally, the area to the south of the school is considered a better area than the north of the school. There is also a hospital just north of the school, which is pretty visible even from campus.
