If I could go back to talk to myself as a high school senior, I would have told myself that college only has to be as hard as you make it. There are things you can do to eliminate stress and make the transition to college easier. I would have told myself about the study tips I have learned throughout this first semester and organization tricks, such as buying a calendar to keep track of due dates for assignments and exam days. I also would have told myself that index cards are great tools when it comes to studying as they make great flashcards. One important thing I would tell myself is that pacing yourself on assignments is important. A paper does not have to be done all at one time. Usually you will have several days to work on something, so use your time wisely. Work on assignments a little bit at a time so you do not have to cram the night before the due date. Most importantly, I would tell myself to enjoy every moment, because I am amazed at just how fast this first semster has gone.
