When I graduated high school I went straight into the work field with my stepfather. He had recently been laid off from his job due to the failing economy. The only option he had at the time was to start his own buisness. He asked me to help, he said the only way that he was going to be able to make it work was with my help. Knowing that, I had to help. I planned on going to college after high school but due to the circumstances I settled into working everyday. After three years I noticed it just wasn't what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I began looking for options for my college education. The transition back into school was far from easy. I needed to get back into "academic mode", so I began as a half time student. I am now ready to find funding to go full time. If I could go back I would tell myself to start college as soon as you can. I would say don't get out of the swing of school. Begin college as a full time student, and get it done!
I am enrolled in the Game and simulation programming major at Devry University online.

It is very convinent having my online schoolwork at my fingertips at all times. However I wish I would have known that an online college, to me, takes a little more time and effort than a "normal" campus based college. I do not have a professor at my side to help me through topics in class. Instead it is up to me to read my textbook and interpret the information on my own and to push myself to get things done within the deadline.
