What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I will plan my edcation as my number one priority. I will give more effort looking for good colleges and competitive university who can mold me to reach my dreams as a professional. Make more time to look for finacial instution to help me to my finance in school. Like scholarship to help me to provide me my school needs. I would love to educate myself and be more aware as a responsible student. I have made so many wrong choices when I was young and wanting freedom such as not going to school. I really regret the time that I wasted cause I should have done more productive ways to better myself by taking education as my goal for me to achieve.

I would tell myself to think very long and hard about what I wanted to do, not for anyone else, but for myself, and not what others have suggested as what they think I should do or what I'd be good at, but what I really want to do. I'd tell myself to make a list of the things that I'm interested in. Then make a list of pro's and con's on each in terms of cost, demand, salary, personal interest and ultimate goals. Then research schools. I'd reccomend that I do good research on several schools that have my intended major and not settle with the first one that sounds good. Then I'd tell myself that you are not tied to just one thing. If you go in a direction that you aren't happy with, it's ok to switch, several times even. Ultimately I'd tell myself to try to find something that makes me happy, that can help support my family and that will give back to the community.
