It is what you’d expect out of a majority commuter school. Not large, not super homey, but it’s a nice and affordable school to get your education. Good professors. It might not traditionally be the place to get the “college experience,” but there are certainly people here also looking for it if you are. If you want Greek life or a dorm, you can find it here too. Just maybe in a smaller sense.
In terms of my opinion of farmingdale state college, I personally think Its a pretty good college, met a lot of cool interesting people and there are a good amount of events happening on campus which makes things even more fun for both me and other students on campus. The professor also seem pretty fun and are pretty good when going over the work.
Farmingdale offers a fairly local option for college students that needed to take the next step after community college, such as myself. I am not very involved in extracurricular activities at school due to work, but I know there are a multitude offered there
I love Farmingdale. The campus is amazingly beautiful and the people are so nice. I just moved here not long ago from Ohio so I am still trying to get used to the NY life. The people in my classes have a sense of humor and are really nice. Everyone is there for one another and if we need help, there is always someone to turn to. Love being on campus.

Don't worry the transition was very smooth, just stay focused on your goals.
The Students here are very helpful, they will go out of there way to help you if need be.
I have not started Spring classes yet, but based on what I have seen at Farmingdale State University as of yet, I have no complaints. I have dealt with Administrators at the college, in Administration, as well as in the Biology department, and have always felt that I was heard, and that I was given great respect and helpful assistance. Everyone from Admissions, to Financial Aid, to the Dean herself, and the Biology Department leaders, are professional and show true concern that I become a successful student at Farmingdale. I cannot identify a "worst thing" about Farmingdale at this time.
It's an overall friendly school, but it is normaly quiet.
For being an okay school where the students are very practical and career oriented. Most of the students know what they want and go to school to get their degree and move on to their future pursuits. Farmingdale is also known for it's beautiful, green campus and being environmentally sound. A Chinese exchange student said that the look of the campus reminded her of her image of England. We have geese walking around campus and they are very adorable to watch. :-)
It has more open options rather than my other choices. It's a really good Starter college.
Students who I believe should attend Farmingdale State College are those that are interested in receiving an education in business, technology, visual arts and sciences, aviation, or horticulture. It is also crucial that they have self-discipline and are prepared to force success upon themselves. Those who are driven, focused, and extremely hard-working will do very well in this school.
Farmingdale is mostly a school for people who are serious about their education, it is not for people who are loking to party.
The classmates are a variety of demographics, although mostly younger students who are first time undergraduates, and transfer students.

That the professors while well versed in their fields were more flexible to those of us who have to hold full-time jobs. The professors here are very unforgiving when it comes to late work.
