I would tell myself that I should go to New York for college. The first college I went to wasn't for me, and it may have been tough, but it would have been great to start out in New York. I was afraid since I hadn't lived anywhere but Kalispell, but it really would have been a great experience. I'm going there next year, however, it would have been nice to have been there all for years. I would tell myself not to be afraid and that I could do well whether I was at home or across the country.
The size is a huge bonus. More individual time with the instructor allows for the subject to be dicussed in depth. This allows me as a student to learn and apply that knowledge to my new carreer and to life.
The type of person who should attend Flathead Valley Community College should be someone who is looking for a great education, being taught by determined loving instructors who are interested in the sucess of the students and them having a succesful future. If you like small schools and fewer amount of students in each classroom; along with more one on one instructor to student study time then FVCC is the school for you.
The faculty and staff are truly devoted to their students and the learning experience they provide. I was previously attending M.S.U. Bozeman for a semester and coming back to Kalispell for this semester I was astounded at the devotion and genuine caring attitude of the faculty here. They honestly want you to succeed and want to see you do well, but they are still able to push you to do your best. Whether it be a teacher, or a caring adivisor in the financial aid office, the staff of this college are prepared and desiring to help.
that half the teachers are just volunteers and really don't know what they're doing
The community college experience allows the students to truely discover their full potential and leads to unknown paths to better tomarrows future.
My classmates are helpful, smart, determined to finish school with a good GPA, and they like to make everyone feel welcome no matter what their race, gender, etc. is.
logger sports i think.
If there was anything I would have like to know before attending was how financial aide was used and clarificaton of all my options. Going in as a freshman I was unaware of the scholarships and loans that are out there for people like me.
FVCC is not all the academically challenging. I'm in the Scholar's program and it's much easier than the IB classes I took in high school.
Flathead Valley Community College is not for those students who are looking for a large social life. The amount of activites for the students to interact and meet is very minimal. FVCC area is a retirement town, making is so many of the students are older. I think if you looking to go to college to meet others and have a social life, Flathead Valley Community College is not for you.
The theatre program is great. Theie theatre space is fantastic when it comes to lights and sets and such, and the people there are fantastic. Everyone is supportive of everyone else, which is really fantastic that it's not uber competative.
