The cost. It is a prestigious school with resources above and beyond but I have gotten into crippling debt so far because of the cost.

Masrur

The tuition and fees of the school is excessively high, and it is increasing every year. It makes things much harder to students like me who are truly enthusiastic but have a very low income.

Virginia

The only really bad experience I've had was when a professor gave some inaccurate information at an Art Class lecture and when I asked her about it she ignored me and assumed I didn't know what I was talking about. Even when I gave her the correct information from a text book and website she continued to state the information in her lecture was up for debate and not exacly able to prove as fact.

Andre

Nothing I think its a great school.

Shannon

My school is very focused on technology, so it attracts many males who are interested in computers. The people are very intelligent but a majority or very socially awkward and spend far too much time with video games. Males make up the vast majority of students at my school and because I am a female some of the tend to be awkward around me. Many times I find myself as the only female in a group of twenty people. I wish the people were not so interested in playing computer games and would rather participate in activities with me.

The worst thing would have to be cost it is expensive, however it is for a good cause.

I think the worst thing in my school is probably the food. Since we are such a diverse school with students of all nationalities the school tries to provide a variety of food in the cafeteria. However, they could definitely do a better job of providing lighter meals and more fresh and/or organic foods.

I would say maybe the expense. They have been really good to me in providing financial help, but I will be left with a significant amount of debt when I graduate. I understand why it is expensive, I know all great things take money to work. I have a very focused area of study and it just isn't provided in state colleges or universities. I had to go the private college route and this is definitely the best value for my dollars. It is just scarey to know how much I will ultimately owe.

The worst thing I have discovered is the fact they took money out of my checking account with out first letting me know they were going to. I called my advisor who said everything was covered, they discovered my account had been used and that amount wasn't in there so my account bounced. My advisor said he had made a mistake it wouldn't happen again, then I called him back two months later to be sure ,I was again told it wouldn't happen and it did again.

The worst thing about Florida Tech is that the campus remodeling projects do not get completed on time. It bothers me because I am paying the facility fee and most likely will not be able to use all of the brand new facilities.

James

The school is too expensive for my taste. Coming from a family that works hard for money, I get immersed into a society that spends money in a manner that is too carefree. Many of my friends are much wealthier than I am, but in order to particpate in school activities, I have to spend just as much as they do. I couldn't find time to work, and if I did, I still wouldn't have enough spending money. I recommend that students should come to this school with plenty of cash and a budget in mind.

Amanda

The cost of tuition because it is rediculously expensive. Yes it is a private institution, but it is still overpriced. I'm not sure if the amount of money it costs to go there is really going to pay off in the end. It's about $30,000 to attend per year, and I have not been that impressed by the campus or any of the equipment (they say it's a very hands on school but I haven't even been on a school trip!).

Joshua

The administration focuses on furthering the schools academic pursuits and the currents students seems to be left behind.

ross

The dorm room conditions are deplorable. They leak and flood our personnal belongings, that doesn't compare to the asbestos that was found.

Jamie

Melbourne isn't exactly the most "hoping" place in the world. There are lots of good stores and Melbourne is close to Orlando, Cocoa, Titusville, and Sebastain. There's lots of stuff to do, but not much within a short walk of campus. If you don't have a car, pray that your friends do.

Stephanie

I consider the size a double edge sword, as it does allow more attention from professors, it is limiting in options as far as life long friends are concerned. Also the small percentenage of women some how makes them more competive and harder to approach to seek freindship.

Dave

Well because we're Tech-Based there aren't all that many women. That could be better.

Peter

The age of some of the buildings.

Jonathon

The school is very small. It is trying to grow, but it is doing it in the wrong ways.

Jessica

Although this tech school is small (~3500 students) the class size can get pretty large compared to high school, and the ratio of girls to guys is definately in the girls favor, but most of those boys are gaming or on the computer so us girls can't get their hopes too far up!

Keenan

The lack of social activities and events that are not fraternity based. There are many events but so much are fraternity/sorority events and for people who don't want to get involved with them this is a problem. There really isn't much school spirit as everyone is so involved in getting their own work done. Although it is a work intensive university, there is very little extra-curricular activities to help students get away from the tedium of schoolwork. This wouold definately be the worst thing about Florida Tech.
