What is unique about my school compared to other schools I considered is that FIU is extremely diverse. The diversity gives way to cultural growth which is beneficial to the whole student body. This diversity shapes people in extraordinary ways and has helped me grow in my views and awareness.

Unlike schools such as UF or FSU, Florida International University is situated in the heart of a culturally diverse city - the university is centered in the thriving metropolis of Miami, as opposed to a small city and population that is centered around its local university. This, as well as the diverse student body that attends it, makes FIU a rich source of international information and experiences.

The great thing about Florida International University is that it is one of the most diverse universities in the nation. Cultures and languages from all over the world can be found and experienced through an education at FIU. All cultures are accepted and the faculty is amazing at communicating with students.

The FIU One Card which is your ID card that is linked with Well Fargos Bank making it very convenient.

As far as I know, there are more opportunities for study abroad since we have such a large international presence. I feel that there are more opportunities on learning about foreign cultures and languages.

This school is very diverse, you see students and professors from all over the world.

The word "international" says it all! Located in the melting pot that is Miami, FIU provides exceptional education with a well-rounded student body and staff. As you venture out into the real world, it gets smaller and smaller, and having studied in such an eclectically cultured institution prepares you for the business oppportunities and relationships you will gain in any industry.

The size, the location, the students, and the faculty.

They were proud to say that they were chosen as the #1 school in America to graduate students with the LEAST amount of debt. That was appealing to me because I want to be able to keep a lot of the money I earn after graduation instead of paying off loans. I also liked that "International" was in their name. I felt like I was guaranteed diversity and traveling.

Being a local, I've had the opportunity to attend our great local community colleges for some years. This, however, is an experience unlike anyother for me. I'm surrounded by rich cultures that mesh to create the environment found at FIU. There are people from around the world here, from tropical locations to chilly regions; all of whom are now enjoying the great miami weather. Our Professors come from all walks of life and bring their experiences to one, sunny and often humid, south florida location. There's no greater place than FIU and it's amazing location.

Florida International University is very diverse when it comes to the students attending, courses, and professors. It is a young school and therefore very up to date technology is used in it's classrooms and libraries.

It was in the vibrant city of Miami. We had everything and anything we wanted at our disposal including, but not limited to a great nightlife, beach and loads of opportunities to suceed.

The unique thing about Florida International University is that we have numerous opportunities to succeed. We have the biggest campus in South Florida, where you can meet new friends that will last a life time. We have a very diverse school, where we can network all the time. This school has 2 smaller campuses within 50 mile range and they offer a FIU transit bus system, so one doesn’t have to worry about driving. This is how Florida International University is unique.

Honestly, Florida International University is an affordable school, so it was definitely a good option. Also, it has two big "main" campuses, The Modesto Maidique Campus and the Biscayne Bay Campus. Both have a big distance between them but it gives any potential student different choices when it comes to travelling to school, as one campus could be closer to home than the other, and each campus has it's appeals.

Once you considered all the different qualities a school should have, you realize that F.I.U is the most complete and well balanced one. It is not very expensive but at the same time it has a great educational level. My school has also a very friendly environment; you will definitely make friends and get help everywhere you turn around. There are always something fun to do at F.I.U, if you like to party you will have plenty of opportunities. In general is a great experience that you should not miss.

I agree we have parking issues and a commuter population. But hey...every school has its faults. You can't expect the perfect?! FIU is filled with academics, sports, and involvements. I emphasize on them three because I know their importance in this school. We are a new school but have grown with immense potential. From an empty airfield to a huge campus! We made the rankings which amazing programs. Such growth! Reminds me of my own growth spurt..haha

FIU has their own card called the FIU One Card that, while used as a regular ID in most schools, also allows students and faculty to connect a WellsFargo account for the card to be used to purchase items on and off campus. Those without and/or unwilling to get a WellsFargo account may also load up the cards themselves to be used only for bus fare fromone campus to the next, as well as for printers and the like.

Here at FIU, you can do pretty much whatever you like. There's enough diversity that you'll definitely find a group to fit in with, and there are tons of classes to choose from. The professors, in my experience, are fair and there's plenty of tutoring available. Take advantage of all the resources they provide here for free!

FIU is a secret. The in-state cost is a downright bargain. I have friends who went to UM across the city in Coral Gables and they cannot point to any superiority in terms of academics, programs however may vary.

Based on my experience with the Mechanical Engineering Department of FIU I can honestly say the professors are caring and professional. Also, there many educational and professional development opportunities available to motivated students. For example, there is tutoring offered for mathematics and writting, career fairs per semester, speaker sessions , awsome student organizations and more.

What is unique about Florida International is they provide a lot of diversity and opportunities for everyone. FIU has lots of different programs that i can benefit from such programs like the career services that can help students find out what they want to be in life.

Within the name, this school is completely international. The benefit is that not only are the professors from other parts of the world but so are your peers, so there is no way that you won't learn about a different culture. The school offers a mulititude of resources so that everyone can succeed, from tutoring to advising to every possible organization out there. FIU makes you feel like you have a purpose higher than what you expected to have when you left high school. FIU truly embraces the idea of a family.

It's location allows Florida International University to have an astoundingly diverse student population. Thus one can find an atmosphere of open-mindedness and tolerance, and many student organizations for the support of students of all backgrounds.

Uniqueness of diversity and cultural backgrounds allowing students to learn of different points of view in all aspects of daily life. It showed me that we learn more from our classmates than the actual faculty. It was definately an "eye opener" for many students who thought of the US as the only place worth knowing in the entire world. Indeed, the american dream is an excellent foundation, perhaps the best foundation that any other country in the world could offer, but it is our duty to care and explore the world we live and share with many other great countries.

My school allows me to conveniently commute. It also caters to international students which has opened me up to different cultures throughout my studies.

this school is very hispanic influnced and spanish is spoken among the daily here at school. this school really reflects the city of Miami as a whole.

There is a lot of school spirit and it seems as though everyone wants to be involved. The students always seem eager to be on campus and everyone seems to like attending all their classes.

Again, its diversity is what makes it unique.

My school is very diverse. I have literally met dozens of people from all parts of the world, even from countries I never even heard of! Plus the warm Miami weather is awesome!

What may be unique about this school compared to other schools is the amount of diverstiy in campus and also the different event different races come up with on campus.

The relation between all the students is really cool. The university family is really unique because is together. We support our teams cheering up and doing lots of things. I think that is what makes FIU unique. It?s students.

It is not in a college town, it is in a major city that is perfect for people of all race, ethnicity, and religions!

Florida International University is one of the top Universities for business, and since I'm going to major in International Business as well as minor in entrepreneurship, FIU is an excellent school to continue my education and attain my degree. Furthermore, since I am also a full-time employee FIU has very flexible schedules which allow me to continue working while attending school. I look forward to attending this top University and expanding my knowledge in the business world as I am gaining experience working for an Import/export company, all I need is the degree to continue to excel.

One thing about FIU that is unique about this unversity is the fact that it was soo close to home, and the fact that when I am at FIU I feel like I am in a place that does not judge another place I can call home.

My school is built upon the idea that everyone is a busy and occupied individual, and so my university makes classes available at any given time of the day so that everyone can get a great education at a time that is convinient for them.

I would have to say that the diverse cultural mix at my University when they say International that is really what they mean.

The quality of the design program available at this school is not offered in any other surrounding schools near me. The professors are very good and are experienced designers and architects.

Florida International University has a very diverse student and teacher population. Students come across other students that are from diffrent countries and states. It's nice to hear them talk about where they grew up, and it gives us a new perspective on how other students struggled to come and attend this school.

It is in an urban city, Miami, where there is always lots to do. It is very culturally diverse and it offers a good learning environment.

I choose this school because it was close to home and less expensive.

Its very diverse in students and faculty. Very artsy, has unique art pieces around campus, and green surroundings. Has a mix of a busy feel (in certain parts of camps) and very chill. Its comfortable to live on campus and has several different activities to do. The size is just right, with the number of students and property.

The diversity is unmatched we have students from every corner of the world.

This school is special like a perfect fitting shoes, looks good on and when you're finish with the shoe instead of it looking old and worn it compliments you well, this school has life learning and love, the good bad and ugly but it also has family friends and a promising future. This campus holds the very things a college should and it makes you feel like you have made a accomplishment once you have walked away and put on a new pair of shoes.

Florida International University has a very diverse setting, where everyone regardless of race can talk to each other without race being a factor.

We know mostly everyone because everyone is always there. W e may not know them by name but we see them on a daily basis.

How dirverse it is. Since its in the heart of miami you have so many different races and ethnicities coming together. There is art work displayed on campus to make you feel like you are at a pricy art gallery. The sororities and fraternities are so involved on campus.
