Someone who is easily distracted by the fast lifestyle of Miami would have trouble staying focused at Florida International University. I am originally from Seattle, WA and the cultural differences from my hometown and where I currently live and attend school were dramatic, so location away from home would be something to think of as well.
The kind of person who shouldn't attend this school is someone who is very anti-social and doesn't want to be bothered by students or clubs. There are countless kinds of people to become friends with and help make your college expierence memorable.
I believe all persons should be given a chance to attend college and if they find out that it is not for them, then they can atted a trade school or jump into the work force. I do not believe that there is a particular person that shound not be allowed to attend this school. I feel that every should be given an opportunity.
Anyone who is not willing to work hard or is not fond of a diverse community should not attend FIU. FIU has great programs that entail many projects, activities and events. If you are looking for an easy ride, FIU is not for you.
I believe this school is for all types of people. I was amazed to see the wide array of race, culture, languages and interests, and from what I have seen so far, the school seems to bend over backwards to provide opportunities for minorities to feel welcome and at home and to be able to locate programs and facilities to make the transition a smooth one!
Someone very religious, conservative or intolerant should not attend this school.
A person that wants to be at a small university with extra small student to professor ratios should not attend this school. Also people that are closed minded and does not like diversity should not attend this school.
FIU is open and accepting to everyone.
If your looking for a real college experiance I would not attend FIU. Although it is a great school, it is also a commuter school, not many students live on or around campus. FIU lacks the feeling of school spirt and the soundings of a undergrad community.
If you're very pretentious, I suppose. It's pretty laid back.
Nobody, everybody should have the same opportunity to attend FIU. Now, if you're a pessimistic ungrateful person, you probably won't be having a good time already. I feel pessimistic myself sometimes, but the moment I remember where I go to school, and how great it is to be part of such a great place I put all the bad things behind. Anybody who's told not to go, should rebel and go. You do what's best for you and your happiness, don't ever let anybody tell you otherwise!
Students who want to attend an already established university should reconsider FIU because the school is young and still developing and making a name for itself.
Everyone should go to FIU; it's a great place to get outside of your comfort zone, learn about new cultures and grow your world view. It's a very accepting university over all; very "Come one, come all" vibe that is welcoming and friendly.
I think everyone should attend this school.
Any kind of person can attend FIU. Being that it is in Miami, it is a very diverse campus. It is unlikely that someone would feel they do not belong. If a person does not mind an urban setting, but is not looking for a school with a huge campus, and is willing to work hard to accomplish their academic goals, FIU could be right for them.
There is no certain type of person that should attend. If you want somewhere that is international, exciting, fun, caring, unique, in the middle of everything, top notch, then FIU is the school for you. Although it is a young school compared to many 4 year universities, FIU has proved itself to be an excellent contendor for bright minds, leaders in society and more.
People with a lazy disposition should not attend F.I.U. This school forces you to be self-driven, and hard-working.
Transfer students, non-spanish speaking students, students that love to have the university feel, students that like school extracurricular activities should not attend this school.
Anyone with a closed mind, who is not ready and willing to engage in this university and make the best of their experiences in order to to transcend them into their future lives.
A person that is not dedicated to their studies.
Students who do not study and dedicate their time to their future professional career should not attend my school.
People who can't stand running around in circles to make sure the staff gets all your credits, financial aid, and classes correctly should not, I repeat, SHOULD NOT apply to this school. If you are looking for people to be open, they're not. Everyone has their own clique...even the staff.

Anyone who isn't willing to work hard and face up to the challenges that the classes of their majors demand.
I believe that this school is great for students that want to live close to home and are not looking to spend an enormous amount of money on their tuition. I attend the Doctorate for Physical Therapy Program at FIU and I have heard from Physical therapist in the field that the students at FIU are more knowledgeable then the students from NOVA and University of Miami. It's not the most luxurious school but it is a great academic school.
This school is truely an INTERNATIONAL school and is has done a great job of admitting very diverse cultures into the school and because of that, if you are someone that is most comfortable in a school where the majority of the population is your race, you won't be comfortable here because it is an integrated school.
A person from an all-american family would not fit in at the school very well. Or someone who does not mesh well with people from varying ethnic backgrounds. Students who really want to do a ton of partying wouldn't have too much fun --this is essentially a commuter school.
Someone who is not open to diversity.
A prtestant, conservative, white, that is itending to pursue politcal science, philosophy, or any of the humanities for that matter. Also a person who really needs to beliong to a fraternity or sorrotity; or a person who is very school spirited. Because 90{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the school commutes to school, social life in FIU is more Miami dependent, than university dependent.
I belive anyone could attend this school

I believe that all kind of students should attend this school, that what makes it interesting. I've meet a lot of students that are different and I've learned a lot from them. Up to this day we are still friends. If you?re the type of person that wants to try new thing then this is the school for you.
The kind that wants to live the campus life, where it's really campus involvement.
At this school there are two campuses. One for each personality. If you are outgoing and is concerned with alot of partying and want a bigger surrounding, go to the South Campus. The North Campus is very personal, friendly and has a very nice pool and is just off the bay. So there is a place for everyone here.
Absolutely no one. There is a place for every single person at FIU. Its impossible not to feel at home.
Any person can attend this school if they want to. However, they have the option to fail or not.
Everyone is welcome
A person who isn't cool, calm, and collective should not attend this school. Someone who doesn't like to have fun, hates to get involved and help others, and hates studying or studys all the time should not consider this school. A person who is extremely serious and unaccepting of others and their differences would not fit in well here. People who just want to get college over with and get on with life should consider another college with a stronger focus on getting in and out with less focus on overall experience.
People that are not serious about studying and getting ahead with their careers.
someone who doesn't have school spirit!
Anyone who is lazy or there to party because all they do is hinder the people who are there to actually get things done.
