Foothill is a wonderful community college. The professors offer great feedback, teaching to the level that you're currently at, and will do their best to provide you with further resources to help you succeed. There are many clubs, activities, and opportunities to join on campus, such as transfer days, job fairs, art sales, and more. There's also a wide range of classes, ranging from things like portrait drawing to astronomy to the history of magic, science, and religion. There is a makerspace on campus, as well as an observatory. You get free unlimited bus rides in the Santa Clara County, as well as many other student discounts. The school also helps guide you to transferring to other big colleges in the area, and just wants you to succeed. I would strongly recommend starting at Foothill to get your general education out of the way, but to do so in an environment that wants to help you flourish as an individual.

The fact that the two schools are sister schools makes it easy to sign up for classes at either college; it has made it very easy to sign up for a different professor for the same class. The professors are mostly kind, there are some that are unreasonable but students have always made it through. It has a very nice and straightforward system for transferring to CSU and UC, with TAG and course articulation on ASSIST that counselors help students with.
