I love Fort Valley State University. I came to the university to play sports and the coaching staff has been great. This is my first semester and I am really looking forward to gaining the full college experience. Thus far, I've found there are many events to attend and groups in which I have the opportunity to join.

The students at Fort Valley State University are very friendly and tend to treat each other with respect. The faculty are very nice and resourceful, though there is a lack of communication between various departments, such as financial aid and admissions. Overall, if you want to get away from the city, then Fort Valley State University is for you.

Fort Valley State University is a historically black university full of so many different personalities! The people on campus are very nice, intelligent, and friendly. The professors are understanding and patient when it comes to students and/or excuses. When you are here, you will connect and network with so many different individuals who's main focus is to better you for post-graduation.

It's an okay school. The teachers here really care about you. Take out time to visit your professor sand talk to them about your grades and other academic stuff. They usually have advice on what to take and with who. There is always an event that is occurring. You are usually notified about in your school email, so always check it. Overall, you'll only be miserable there if you don't take the time to go out and participate in activities and clubs.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

College is a place for people who love studying what they want to stick for the rest of their lives. I learned that learning is not just about sitting and listening. Studying is active as much as playing football. I need to talk, react, involve and contribute for what I want to learn. For that reason, I always want to have some kinds of outside activities. These activities will help me learn a lot of things which I can't learn inside the classrooms. Everything I know about my major is very limited. Therefore, I need to open my eyes and look further to see what is reality about my major. In every way, studying is never one-way process. I need to study from my teachers but I also need to study by myself. Looking outside the box is the way to study by yourself. Finally, studying is a habit and keep it alive as long as you still want to.

The worse thing I would consider about my school is that there are not enough students activities going on around campus. Many students either go home or travel on the weekends, leavng the others who don't really have campus stranded with nothing to do. I belive this has got to stop!
