Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.

A good school for anyone looking to be built up spiritually, and live in a strong community of support and love, and at the same time grow academically and be prepared for the world.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Look for a school that not your child or you yourself can not only grow academically but can also be formed as an adult, in their conscience and in their maturity. Find a place with a strong community which is there to foster that growth, mentally, physically, and spiritually.

What kind of person should not attend this school?

Someone who is looking for a party school or who is looking for the city life.

Describe the students at your school.

My classmates are amazing people, who all have a strong, infectious desire to learn more about the world around them, and in turn pass that desire to everyone they meet with joy and happiness.

Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

The unique thing about my school is that it is very conservative and Catholic, and the education I'm receiving is academically competetitive as well as morally sound and passionately Catholic.

Make sure to visit multiplte campuses to compare and contrast schools, and then choose the best fit. And once there, stay on top of your studies and try to do well academically -- it will serve you so much better in the long run! But at the same time, don't bury yourself in your books or you'll lose your mind! It's all about balance and planning. Trust me, I speak from experience!

Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

Franciscan is Catholic in word and deed, it promotes and fosters an enviroment of loyalty to the Church's magisterium. It also promotes an enviroment that each student and person's dignity is respected. Students are friendly and engaging and proud of the dynamic orthodxy of the school. Most unique is the hosehold life on campus which is faith centered Fraternities and Soroities that follow a specific charism and challenge each other to live more Christian lives. Professors care about individual students and push them to excell in the classroom and are involved in different aspects of University life.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Visit the campus and stay overnight it is the best way to get a feel for what the campus is really like. If your going far from home make sure the campus isn't dead on the weekends. Make sure it has a good career services program.

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

Quality of the dorms is vast one had no a/c and small rooms and another is brand new with large rooms and a/c. It helps to have a car because the closest shopping is off the hill that the campus and needs a car to get to.

Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.

Franciscan University, a beautiful blend of faith and education, perfectly depicts a school interested not only in academics, but in the potential of its students.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Education is the beaming light and pride of a individual, along with their character and ethical stance. When one chooses to further their learning, finding the perfect college is more than a choice of 'who will make my resume look good'; it is a choice of who will have an influence on your life for the better. The school chosen will be the instrument to further knowledge and will implement a certain mind-set. It is imperative that a student does not let the school think for him/her, but allows them to use the materials at hand to discover truth. Pick a college that provides an atmosphere where your values are not compromised, your career path is nurtured, and your interaction is not limited by the ideals of a small group of individuals.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The worst part about going to Franciscan University is adjusting to the weather. As a Southern California girl, I was used to 80 degree weather with zero humidity and no chance of unexpected rain, year-round. In Steubenville there truely are four seasons; each one distinguishable and very different from the west coast.

Make sure that there is a stress on academics. Equally important is the stress on student life, look for a school with a school that emphasizes social interaction and participation.
