What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Elizabeth

Any F&M student will tell you that the school enjoys frustrating us by constantly changing names on campus. The cafés, student center, and academic programs are always changing names. Why fix what isn't broken? Not only does this confuse us, but the school doesn't even pick names that are worth the frustration. For example, the school changed the name of Jazzman's, the campus's coffee shop, to ZeBi without realizing that this is an Arabic word for an inappropriate saying. Needless to say, we continue to use the old names.

Alexandria

The most frustrating thing is that there is little socioeconomic difference between students. Many students come from high economic backgrounds and personally I find it harder to relate to them.

Personally, I think the most frustrating thing about my school is the dinning hall. There are not many options for students to choose. For example, there are a lot of international students at my school, but the the menu is almost the same every day. What frustrates me the most is that there are not a lot of fruits, and they are not very fresh either. I also wish it would be open earlier in the morning, like at 7 AM. Healthy eating is extremely important, as students' brains cannot funtion well if their bodies are not healthy.

I do not like the curve setforth by the Economics Department at UCSB. It is extremely difficult to get into the major because one has to maintain a 2.85 GPA or above. Furthermore, only around 12{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the entire class gets A- and above.

Sarah

It was small, and while I was there it didn't have good preparation for careers upon graduating, though I know this is being addressed better now.

Malarie

The most frustrating thing about F&M is that they administation only wants credit form this school, and that the classes are very hard.

Rachel

The courses are hard to get into, so you sometimes have to wait a few semesters to get into the class you want.

Jacob

Sometimes, no matter how hard a student works or how much effort they put into their work, they are still unable to reach 'A' status in the eyes of many of the professors. It is very hard to be successful in any class at this school, and there is little forgiveness for any hiccup throughout the course of the semester.
